1762 is located at Dubai International Financial Centre. Not often I come here with my family but I had to visit this place since our very famous SBI(State bank of India) have their office in here. Swamped by officers and business people where time was money and everyone’s in a hurry. It was lunch time and curious of the rush I saw at 1762 I guessed there could be something interesting for everybody.

We reached around 13:00 hours and oh boy there were busy. There was this queue at their counter but it was fast moving. Whatever we ordered reached our table super quick. I guess in this place people are always in a hurry and 1762 has tuned their service to it. Quick and efficient service. I love their uniforms too specially the 1762 bandana.

Before you get yourself wrong, this restaurant was not born in 1762 but rather concept of one of their sandwiches was born in 1762. This store was open in Dubai in 2005. Parking is a pain at DIFC so better arrive early to spend that extra time hunting for parking.

The weather was really nice outside. So we decided to sit out and eat our meal enjoying this lovely weather now in Dubai. Isn’t this weather fantastic?, just wish this weather long lasted. Long live the weather! Above is the shot taken from my seat. Interestingly there were birds around our table. I am only used to seeing cats scroll between our chairs and tables but here you see birds inspecting around your table 🙂

Our meal packed and served in a tray

I was expecting our order to come on a plate and open. Even though it was grilled, heated. It came served wrapped. The order came altogether in an aluminum tray and your meal is either wrapped or in a cardboard. It’s packed to go. Maybe it was designed this way so office professionals could start eating here and if you get an urgent call from your office you can take your lunch and run.

For salad you could mix and match what you wanted. You can customize your order here. We tried the roasted vegetable fusilli pasta with pesto, basil leaves and sun dried tomatoes. Chicken Fattoush with pearl couscous & Pomegranate Drizzle with Pistachios, cucumber, capsicum, parsley. Middle Eastern Pumpkin Salad. And that’s what you are looking at on the top. I enjoyed the ME pumpkin salad the most from the salad plate.

All their buns are made fresh and in-house. One nice thing I noticed about this restaurant was that they give you lot of healthy options to eat from here. Also if you were allergic to certain type of ingredients they would have some options without them like wheat free etc.

The Pepper-crusted beef pastrami made a great impact on our table. Everyone enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately my son dropped his little share on the floor and the remaining of it was even more in demand. NZ Yorkshire pud wrap was soft and easy to bite in too.

The jalapeno wrap was nice and spicy. I very much enjoyed the chili mango wrap. These wraps were loaded with vegetables besides the main ingredient. So this way you have the best of both worlds(veg and non veg).

The Desserts was were their really impressed me. Brought on a wooden tray and cut into small pieces. They really looked good. There was this black beauty that caught my attention from the very beginning called the Wheat free chocolate Torte. It was the best in the lot. So damn dark and hell tasty. Better than their fast moving Millionaire short bread dessert. Maybe that’s because I am still not a millionaire as yet. Pear and berry slice was my second favorite after I finished the Chocolate Torte. Even the Twix brownie was very good. You can definitely not be disappointed with any of their cakes. Don’t forget to try them especially the black beauty which i’d recommend to you 😉

When we were leaving my son got this complimentary Almond Crush Biscuits from the restaurant manager(Rebecca O’Brien). I had a great time dipping these biscuits into my tea and having it. Really good!
