Roberto Cavalli, one of the world’s most successful fashion designer now has a cafe running in Dubai. Never had a chance to wear something designed by Roberto Cavalli but atleast got a chance to experience his cafe. The restaurant primarily serves Italian cuisine but you do find a variance of arabic, like their famous sun dried tomato hummus which is one of the most sought after starter at Cavalli Caffe. Located at the walk JBR, you are more than welcome in your beach wear at this all day dining spot. They also sell their signature Cavalli chocolates but comes with a Cavalli designer price unlike their all day dining menu.

The interiors speak for itself. You know there is Roberto’s touch in the design. The seats had giraffe and zebra pattern as a design. I like the lights specifically which were quite unique in style. Unfortunately they don’t have the beach view but they serve you good food that can keep you happy.

Freshly baked breads came in with our server assisting us by setting up our plates with olive oil and vinegar. An Italian restaurant can’t go wrong with their freshly baked breads. Mocktails looked very pretty, but for me the clear winner was the Crispty mint mocca which was a mind blowing drink. Each sip was thick, rich and strong. The richness of chocolate, the touch of mint, the thickness of the milk and a strong coffee. The Crisp Mint Mocha is definitely worth the money. It was truly a wonderful cold coffee.

I’ve heard lot of good reviews about their hummus.  They have added a new taste by combining it with sun dried tomatoes to the usually found hummus in the arabic restaurants. The bread that came along with it was even better which made it a great pair. Breaded rice balls was surprisingly good. I generally try to avoid anything that says rice on the menu but after my wife’s persistence I tried. They looked very good and when you tear open, you see the cheese sticking out. Dip it in it’s dipper and you just can’t stop. Actually I was quite full by the time I was done with my starters.

The Cavalli Cafe burger was all about the wagyu beef in it. A high quality beef which you are able to appreciate. The presentation of the pizza gets a high mark which made the itself look very good among others. Ofcourse it was a pretty pizza with a pretty taste. But as I’ve been having breads since the time I got in, I quickly moved on to the next best item on the table which was the Fettuccine pasta. I highly recommend to try this pasta to all veggies who visit Cavalli Caffe. There was a right balance of truffle oil and along with herbs and spices makes this fettuccine pasta super delicious.

From the desserts the chocolate fondant is a must try. I’ve noticed their chocolate tastes very good starting from the cold chocolate coffee drink. It was warm and when you mix it with their homemade pistachio icecream, it get’s even better. By the way, they also sell their signature Roberto Cavalli chocolates where a box of 4 piece is 95 dhs. Quite expensive, that I didn’t bother to ask for a sample. :p But I am positive they make quality chocolates as was my experience with chocolate indulgence here.
