Here’s an Iftar Buffet for you from Radisson Blu Deira creek. If you’ve been here for their Friday brunch then it is more or less on the same lines. Priced at Dhs 149 per adult you get to try range of dishes from the regions of the middle east which includes Persian, Emirates, Mediterranean Arabia, Asian which is inclusive of soft drinks and Ramadan special juices.
The Whole first floor is used up for their Iftar Buffet with all restaurants contributing their share for the ramadan buffet. The entire show was mainly happening in the corridors and some buffets available inside certain restaurants. Infact it was a bit crowded in the corridors specially the time between 07:15pm and 8:00pm. You choose to sit in one restaurant but you can pick your food from all the restaurants on the same floor. Our seat was at the Shabestan. We made it just on time. It’s a good idea to be there a little early as there was a queue build up at their valet parking service which can delay your Iftar if you are coming in the last minute.
We started Iftar with dates and dry fruits found on our table along with Ramadan drinks which we took from the Iftar buffet space. They had laban, tamarind, Jallab as ramadan special drinks besides the fresh juices and water. As soon as we broke our fast we then went for our prayers downstairs. We came back but certain counters were quite busy like the shabestan and the asian counters. At Asian counter the dim sums and pecking duck was a crowd puller.
At the sushi stall I managed to find the General Manager of Radisson Blu busy with his Iftar pick :). I almost tried everything from here and it was decent in taste. I tried to sample as much as I could. There were too many dishes to try. There were LIVE cooking stations where you had to wait a bit as it was freshly made like their Pastas made by their Italian restaurant, the zaater with cheese/laban, noodles. There was a chicken shawarma booth as well.
That’s my guest who very much enjoy sushis, so he made most of it at the Asian stall. Also you can see my plate where I tried to collect little from everywhere. Some of those that I enjoyed the most would be the kebabs from shabestan which were Kubideh kebab, Mahi kebab, Jojeh kebab(boneless). Also enjoyed their zaater with cheese from the LIVE station, dim sums and Ouzi (Lamb meat and rice).
They had a room full of desserts. I personally feel this is one area they can do better. I’ve tried a few but not all of them were convincing. Like for example the kunafa is one of the most happening arabic dessert but it didn’t have the same effect for me here. But then again to keep your sweet tooth reasonably happy you should find something in this room of desserts.
