Fried chicken lovers now have a new outlet to visit called WKD chicken, located at Bay Avenue Mall at Business Bay. WKD Chicken is a home-grown brand that serves delectable chicken Burgers, a wide range of flavorful chicken wings, waffle fries flooded with high end sauces with cheese, and indulgent shakes made with premium ice creams which I have to say is a must try at WKD chicken. They also serve softies and cookies as a sweet ending.
It was our first visit to the Bay Avenue Mall. You get free parking at the Mall outdoors parking, provided you show a bill of AED 50 at the parking gate. A cute little restaurant which has 4 seaters, 2 seaters and even a high stool table setup for diners. The interiors have a nice street art painting which makes the restaurant vibrant and colorful.
It all begins with their loaded waffle fries and chicken wings. Waffle fries are surely at its best at this restaurant. A must order would be there top end loaded waffle fries which comes with chicken tenders in it. You definitely can’t get your hand not dirty and that’s why they give you gloves up front. We had a tough time to decide on a suitable chicken wings from their collection. We finally went with 2 different chicken wings flavors that we never tried before. I was a bit skeptical about picking the white chicken wings which I’ve never seen before, but that was the actual chicken wings that impressed us all and is a must try which is called the white BBQ wings tossed in traditional South Carolina BBQ sauce. Let’s not forget those amazing dippers that comes along with it especially the blue cheese sauce which will ignite your taste buds with it’s awesome flavor.
They make amazing milk shakes here. I noticed many customers would just order their milk shakes while we were having our lunch. We tried the chocolate milk shake and it was so thick, pure and rich that defined a good quality milk shake. You can only be thrilled if you try any of their milkshakes here.
They had sandos which were like king sized burgers, and sliders which comes as two mini burgers. The Deluxe chicken sando is a must try for those who love coleslaw and it had an over load of it. The chicken patty also in the sando is pretty thick and along with each bite you get those sauce flowing out of it. You also have the option to choose the level of spice and we went with medium by default just to keep it safe.
For a sweet ending, besides the shakes you have a cookie or softie to end with. But I guess if you are already having the milk shake, it could be challenging to have another ice cream as the milk shakes are anyway made from ice creams.
