Every time I pass by Alison Nelson’s chocolate bar at Dubai Mall it’s always been difficult to not look at those gorgeous desserts. Located at the sweet spot that any passer-by eventually would end up being their customer one day. The chocolate bar is the perfect bar for chocolate enthusiasts and you can be assured coming out satisfied with some quality chocolate experience. Their chocolate, cakes and ice creams have been yummy yum!
The last time I sat here was during the Football world cup. The perfect view to the giant screen at the Ice rink of Dubai Mall. Chocolate bar is actually an open space with big comfy sofas to relax. The good part about their menu is that they’ve got pictures of all their menu items so it makes it much easier to make a pick. The delivery time is quite fast and you can expect your orders to reach your table quickly.
The first one to sample was the chocolate truffle cake and surely it did blow me away. My first spoon of that thick chocolate sauce with warm truffle cake can never be forgotten. When you order these cakes you also have the option to choose between milk, dark or white chocolate sauces. I tried both the milk and dark chocolate sauce and to me their milk chocolate sauce was tastier by an inch than the dark chocolate. You shouldn’t really care about calories when you visit these kind of outlets :p
The crepe by default comes with chocolate sauce but we swapped it for nutella. The crepe is packed with fruits such as strawberry, banana, pineapple and kiwi. The crepe felt a little heavy after having their chocolate truffle, molten chocolate cake along with their thick sauces. So I silently moved onto the chocolate fondue cause I really wanted to make the most of it as well. The apple crumble will be a favourite to those who typically enjoy apple pie and such desserts but to me it always be chocolate desserts the first priority at chocolate bar.
The chocolate fondue brings an amazing scene to your table. Almost everybody around you will surely notice your order. The straight cut warm brownie was moist and so good that I could truly enjoy it even without the chocolate fondue. The marshmallows dipped in chocolate fondue made a great match. The candle below gave the warmth to get the chocolate fondue flowing.
I highly recommend the black and white gelato shake. A thick dense shake with burst of rich chocolate. Served in a big glass which is good enough to fill you up. The Italian soda was a little different in taste but was a nice drink. The liquid chocolate is nothing more than hot chocolate. The chocolate shot was thick and strong in chocolate, wish they had some hot breads for me to dip in it(like how I had it at paparotti). Overall my experience at chocolate bar has been very good. You really do appreciate the quality of chocolate they use and surely an honest chocolate bar for chocoholics. Click here to see their complete menu.
