Eid Mubarak everybody! Hope you’ve all been enjoying your holidays. Not often I visit a crab restaurant but this one couldn’t be ignored. Don’t get fooled by the name, they don’t just serve crabs or seafood but you can also find others like steaks and chicken. This restaurant is just a few months old hence it still feels new and fresh. Located on the 9th floor of Media One Hotel in Dubai Media City, with exquisite interiors, comfortable seating and good food it should be an ideal place to meet up with your friends or even business partners.
The minute I entered the restaurant I just gazed at the interiors for a while. The restaurant is packed with wood and leather. Wooden flooring, wooden walls, wooden tables, leather chairs and sofas. I just loved the feel of the solid wood tables, the leather chairs and wooden flooring. Since it’s located on the 9th floor of Media One Hotel you can also have nice views of the media city from their glass windows.
They didn’t have any mocktails listed in the drinks menu. They make you a random mocktail when needed which came Pinna Colada and Cranberry Mojito(cranberry, sugar syrup, grenadine and mint leaf). I was in complete love with the mojito, Just wanted to finish before the ICE took over the taste. The pinna colada wasn’t bad at all which had a mix of pineapple, coconut cream, passion fruit but the Mojito was my pick of the day. I’ve also seen the same mojito picture posted on their facebook wall so I am pretty sure this was their signature mocktail. Before we made the order we decided that we would focus on their seafood rather than beef or chicken since they were a seafood specialist. So we sacrificed by not ordering some of their no. 1 sellers from the appetizers like the boneless ribs, buffalo wings etc. But our appetizers were never short of anything. The crispy fried black pepper squid that came with aioli dip was so good that by the time I sampled one, took pictures and turned around the whole stack was already over. The taste was so good that my guest forgot me in the middle :p I highly recommend to try these fried squids here. I was in love the aioli dip that came along with fried squids that I used it with the crispy rice balls as well which actually came stuffed with fish. In short their appetizers were magnificent. But I’d say their portion size is quite small for the price. Too good but too little 🙁
The soft shell ceasar crab salad was a very good salad which had seafood in the mix. The little fishes in it were really yummy. The soft shell crab in both the Singaporean pasta and the salad were the same. Soft shell meaning these crabs don’t really have any shell, so it’s easier and convenient to eat by not having to use any tools to crack the shells and have them. The pasta was interestingly black in color which the Chef said becomes black while it’s getting cooked with the seafood. I was enjoying the different seafood found inside the Singapore pasta more than the tomato based pasta. The portion size for Singapore pasta was a quite filling. The pepper corn sauce was the best part for me with the steak. It really could add that extra taste to the steak. But honestly, the steak wasn’t tender enough. It was a little extra chewy. The hot spicy fries was a good compliment to the dish.
They have an impressive dessert called the brownie stack to show off. The difference about the brownie here was that upper and lower thick crust of the brownie was hard as a wall which would nicely hold the soft brownie cake on the inside. I could literally scoop off the moist brownie dessert without breaking the outer crust. The homemade salted caramel ice cream gave a nice compliment to the warm brownie. Both the brownie and the ice creams were homemade. The pecan and maple tart was also brilliant. I love pecans and this one was absolutely loaded with it. It tasted original and some of the best pecan tarts I’ve had. The experience with their desserts have been luscious and toothsome.
They have their menus uploaded on the website. Click here to visit their official website. Click pictures below to see them in full screen view:
