Eat Greek is turning out to be one of my favourite restaurants in Dubai. I am beginning to enjoy eating Greek a lot. Taste here is unique and different from the usual and Eat Greek does a good job by keeping their food very traditional and delivering them on your table with a high note of freshness and quality. I first visited Eat Greek at JBR(Jumeirah Beach Residence). You can read all about that post here. This time I am at their second store in Dubai which is in Mall of Emirates located close to VOX cinemas.

The interiors are very cozy and makes you feel at home, probably at a Greek home. By having imported lime stones, wooden flooring, stone washed walls they definitely try to transport you to a typical space in Greece. But definitely, they can’t beat their branch at Jumeirah Beach residence which has a sea view too. Surely they have done a very good job and loved the comfortable wooden chairs where I was seated.

I can’t forget how soft and crispy the hot bread was. It was just perfect. Use it along with the olive oil found on the table and you can’t have a better start. The best part you get these breads complimentary. From the drinks, surely the nutella milkshake stole the show. With the straw piercing through the nutella filled doughnut to reach the bottom of the nutella milkshake.  The doughnut by itself was a little dry, it was the oozing nutella that was doing the magic. Surprisingly, the Greek salad was ordinary it really didn’t catch my attention. The cold appetizers which are the dippers you see above was mesmerizing. The tzatziki is quite famous and most people love this one. The spicy feta cheese is serious spice that you do feel it. The tarama was quite creamy and infact I enjoyed this one a lot.

Then came the mind blowing appetizers. There were two kinds of cheese for the appetizers and our favourite has always been their baked feta cheese. The pan fried pecorina cheese which is more chewy is a special of the day. It’s not always seen on the menu. The Kadaifi Jumbo prawns is tantalizing, its those prawns wrapped in kadaifi filo pastry and an interesting fruity sauce that makes them a mouth watering experience. The lamb meatballs were succulent and had a nice flavour to it.

The hanging Mixed grill is a scene for everyone. Everytime a hanging mixed grill came in on a table, people from the neighboring table would also envy the dish. The grilled pattie of the Bifteki burger was a wonderful piece of meat. The fries that came along was different from the usual and irresistible.  The Lamb chops was as promising as it’s good looks. It was juicy in every bite. Gemista was an interesting dish which had rice and herbs hidden inside a giant pepper and tomato. These are the kind of traditional dishes you really appreciate which comes with a different taste all together and best part its full of flavour and nutritious.

We got to try few desserts and there were some mind blowing ones and some which I thought needed improvement like the Tiramisu. The milk custard pie was yummy. The crispy skin on the top and soft pie in the middle was a delightful experience. The real show came from the made to order Valrhona dark chocolate pie. It takes around 10 – 15 mins to make it but they are worth every second you wait for. It comes hot and the cold orange ice cream gives a zesty effect. I think this chocolate pie need a vanilla ice cream rather. Whatever it is, it’s a killer dessert and if you are a fan of chocolate then you better not miss this one. Freshly baked and a thriller for the chocoholics.
