Here I am at the newly open DEAN & DELUCA at Mall of Emirates(next to VOX cinemas) for their variety breakfast. DEAN & DELUCA was first open in New York and is now spread across the world. They not just serve American cuisine but have a mixed bag of everything. Besides western, some of their other focus area includes Italian and Middle Eastern cuisines. The middle eastern cuisine is a special add on for the arabic world and currently not available in menu of all other international chains of DEAN & DELUCA.
The interior is simple and elegant with a black and white theme. The restaurant smells fresh and new. You are surrounded by their open kitchen concept. The fresh bakes coming out of the hot ovens and the hanging shawarma meat will be teasing you from a distance.
Bora Bora is one of their famous mocktails. It wasn’t fancy looking but a nice refresher. The chocolate frappe looked indulging from a distance but tasted very ordinary to me. The cappuccino felt special including the glass. It’s not a bad idea to try a hot coffee if you are here for breakfast.
The pancakes surely stood attractive on our table. They were warm, fluffy with lots of berries and sauce. It was a lovely sweet bite for the morning. I wish the pancakes were a little more thicker in size. You could have additional toppings like chocolate syrup, mascarpone cream, raspberry sauce, strawberry jam, apricot jam, raspberry jam & maple syrup. Suddenly from a western breakfast we moved to an Arabic breakfast with Poached eggs, foul and basturma. The basturma(beef) was awesome. The poached eggs and basturma was contained in a thick paste of foul. It had a nice arabic tangy taste to it. Foul dominates, so if you typically enjoy Foul then nothing to worry about.
The real man of the match was the freshly baked Fatayer. The Fatayer here is a must try. We went for the 3 in 1 triple Fayater which gave us option to use 3 different toppings on it. Topping options would be from DEAN & DELUCA cheese, spinach, meat, zaater blend and akawi cheese.
And so we had a happy ending with their luscious thick creamy baked cheesecake. The cherry filling was outstanding that you couldn’t stop licking it all over the cheesecake. They had lot more desserts in their collection. Their pecan pie is what I want to try next in my visit to DEAN & DELUCA. Click here to read more about DEAN & DELUCA.
