Here we are at an ultra cool venue located high in the sky on the 68th floor of JW MARRIOTT MARQUIS, Business Bay Dubai(World’s tallest Hotel). A venue that will fascinate you with it’s detail to Luxury, Art and Design. We thought it would just be another Saturday Brunch but WESLODGE saloon has a lot more to offer than just an outstanding American cuisine.
The views at WESLODGE saloon has been immersive. You face the sea, the Palm Islands and the growing district of Jumeirah. The seatings and the interior design is modern, chic and just makes you feel at an English home. Luxury, comfort with elegance is defined in every angle inside this modern restaurant. The diners are surely over pampered with superior decor, service with a smile, great food, enthralling mocktails and loud music.
For the brunch we opted for the non-alcoholic package. The pretty mocktails came with 2 different levels of experience. The first set of mocktails which we ordered from the Brunch menu was pretty but tasted ordinary and wouldn’t really make an impression. During the second half of our brunch we got a second set of mocktails courtesy the staff which was not from the menu but randomly made mocktails which was completely different in taste and gave us a WOW effect. These drinks really were magical in every sip and you just couldn’t stop admiring it. So I think for drinks, you really need to be lucky with your choice of Mocktails as they seem to have the bells and whistles to make you a perfect drink.
Then came the pouring selection of tasting plates. There were primarily 5 items from the tasting plates:
- BURRATA ROASTED PEACHES
- AHI TUNA CEVICHE
- MINI LOBSTER ROLL
- WESLODGE CHOP SALAD
- FRIED CHICKEN + WAFFLE
When you first put the Mini Lobster roll into your mouth, you would definitely notice and appreciate the quality of their parker house roll. Really fine, soft and buttered bread which kind of stole the show from the Lobster itself. The mini lobster rolls was definitely one of my favourites from the tasting plates.
You need to be quick to eat these Burrata Roasted peaches as by the time I finished taking pictures and ate this one, the bread became a little stiff. Although it didn’t affect what’s on top of the bread, the semi soft burrata cheese and peach were lovely.
The real star from their tasting plates would be their Fried chicken waffle starting from its’ presentation. It’s a fantastic combination of savory and sweet which is a combination of egg, fried chicken, buttermilk waffles with maple syrup. A combination not often thought but truly remarkable in taste. Oh yes and the sunny side up egg never looked so cute.
The Weslodge Chop salad is a well known item and often appreciated in most reviews. I couldn’t agree more on all that I’ve heard about it. A healthy combination of fresh avocado, feta cheese and a dressing that makes these vegetables yummy.
The sesame cracker that came with Ahi Tuna Ceviche might not be everyone’s favourite. I think you need develop taste for it, atleast it wasn’t my kind of taste. Otherwise the raw tuna was nicely done with help of avocados, celery and their special sauce.
For the mains we had quite a few tempting American breakfast classics on their brunch menu such as the Avocado toast, Eggs, Buttermilk pancakes, but then we were all just tempted to go for their scrumptious meats. Our decisions were no wrong, My first pick would be their Prime Rib sandwich where the beef was juicy as ever. It comes with a special side(kind of beef fat oil) which is developed while the meat is cooked. It’s a mouth watering experience once you dip that sandwich into it.
All 3 Burgers came accompanied by gigantic fries which can fill you up by itself. I just loved it, it just didn’t feel greasy and you felt eating natural potatoes. The Weslodge burger was the second best. Although all the burgers were satisfying, the beef burgers outshine the lamb here.
Just when we thought we were done with the best at Weslodge then came their indulgent desserts for the brunch. Cheese cake was one of the best I’ve had and the chocolate on the dark chocolate tart was rich and dense. The dark chocolate was really intense. Also I admire the tarts here, so well made that you are able appreciate their baking skills.
Weslodge saturday brunch starts at a package of AED 345. The best part is they have their entire menu clearly uploaded on their website. Click here to visit the official website. Click pictures below to see them in full screen view:
