Ayla Grand hotel – Alain – Classic Executive Suite
We just had a recent staycation in Alain’s tallest hotel, Ayla Grand Hotel. A brand new 5 star hotel located just opposite to the famous Alain Mall. Be it business or leisure Ayla Grand hotel has it grand for everyone to stay. Ayla Grand Hotel would be the latest addition to the portfolio of Ayla hotels and Resorts. This would be Ayla hotels most luxurious hotel.
As soon as we entered the new hotel, we were greeted with traditional Arabic coffee and fresh juices. I thought the inside paint contrast was such that it made the interior of the hotel lobby dim. But the lounge setting leaves an impression of luxury and elegance.
You can choose from one bedroom, two bedroom, three bedroom apartments with both smoking or non-smoking options. We stayedin the classic Execute Suite. One thing you instantly realize is these suits are just about wood and marble, there is an instant feeling of luxury as it’s premium quality materials all around you. You truly feel it 5 star and being a new hotel every area still feels and smells new. The baby cot provided was a sturdy one.
Switches and controls were stylish and modern. Infact you don’t have much switches and it’s mostly touch controls. Touch controls that are visible in the day and dark and mostly used for light controls, notifications, media and temperature control.
The interesting machines that you would find in the kitchen table would be the coffee machine and a micro wave oven. There were 3 complimentary coffee capsules reserved for us to use. Besides the usual tea bags, milk and water, anything else you touch will be separately charged including those nuts and chips you see on top.
The working desk is perfect. Descent space and away from the television to keep you focused. The mirror could be a distraction as you constantly look at yourself while you are working. Phones are in all the places you need. There is a phone on the study desk, next to the bed and even in the bathrooms.
There are two giant sony LEDÂ televisions for your entertainment. One is in the Living room and the other to watch from your master bed. You have two TV remotes but one remote control can be used to control both televisions. Since the televisions had built in games, kids enjoyed it. When it came to channels they just had default channels that came with the starter package and I thought this is one place they should improve. Guests should be able to watch on demand movies. For now It is better you bring your movies in a USB which can be directly be connected to these latest model LED televisions.
The marble bathroom was definitely a grand one. Infact it was one of the widest entry to a bathroom you could get. The doors resemble entrance to a secure safe vault. There is a bath tub as well as a separate rain shower space. Bathroom definitely is a highlight and adds to the 5 star feature of the property.
The Pulse health club is on the top floor of the hotel. So as expected you get nice views with one side view is the Alain farm where fresh vegetables are grown. Gym is spacious. Lots of different kinds of exercising machines for you to burn or build muscles. You can also take membership to the club. Facilities such as Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna are clean and brand new at the Pulse health club. The lockers are modern and electronic. They provide you complimentary towers and apples at the reception.
They’ve got a swimming pool for kids and adults. Swimming pool is located on the roof top of the hotel. Currently the roof top restaurant is not open so you might find it inconvenient especially when you are thirsty or hungry after a swim. There is a beautiful setup of cabanas and if the climate is supportive then you might just not get out of it.
We had our breakfast in their all day dining restaurant called Nara. The interiors were beautiful. This restaurant would be the heart and soul of the Ayla Grand hotel as there wasn’t any other dining restaurant inside the hotel. Besides Nara restaurant, there is Tamra cafe at the lobby which sell cakes, patisseries and coffee. Since the hotel is new, there wasn’t much guests in the morning queuing up for breakfast.
When it came to fresh juices there were many but the real fresh juices was just orange and watermelon. The rest of them where packaged juices. The latte was very pretty as you can see above.
The breakfast menu is a combination of Arabic, English and Indian breakfast. For Arabic they had everything from hot to cold. For Indian you would find items such as dosas. I would prefer to see a LIVE cooking station to enjoy an Indian dosa. The hot appetizers such as the vegetable samosa, seafood fried money bag, toasted saj, toasted pizza were some of my favourites from their breakfast menu.
English breakfast had everything you needed. Croissants were fresh and crisp. Waffles looked very fancy because of it’s unique shape. However items such as smoothies, granola were missing. Eggs can be made the way you like but eggs Benedict was already made in a stretch and available at the buffet.
They also have plenty of meeting rooms and ballrooms used for business and celebrations. You can find more details on their official website. Click here to visit their official website. Click pictures to see them in full screen view:
