Culinary Boutique originally is a cooking school with state of the art cooking studios with individual stations and most importantly their classes are suitable for all ages. They also host luncheon for corporate and private events. Off late their cafe has been doing well on social media pages and it was high time we be here after seeing several eye popping images on Instagram on Culinary Boutique. After being here for lunch, we must admit they are what they call themselves, a Culinary Boutique.
We had visited their new branch in Galleria, Al Barsha. With modern and chic interiors, the cafe sets up a nice ambience to spent time with friends and family. There is an open kitchen and a standalone drinks station. You could have seating arrangements for a group or just a table for 2. Being a cooking school, the hospitality was professional.
We started with their complimentary in house made breads with herb butter. They served us different kinds of bread and infact some of these they even teach in their school such as the making of brioche, sour dough, Focaccia. We thoroughly enjoyed their breads with butter.
Drinks were a little different. Both were of two extremes. Dynamite fusion which was a spicy mocktail, where closer to the end of drink it was getting really spicy and the other was their unique milkshake which was the French Toast milk shake. Me obviously being a French toast fan, jumped onto the French Toast piece that came with the milk shake. The French Toast slice was fluffy, sweet, thick and just wonderful in the mouth. The milkshake was sweet and nice but unfortunately 50 percent of the milkshake was filled with whip cream. so if you don’t really enjoy whip cream a lot, you might as well tell them upfront.
Food is presented in style at Culinary Boutique, as a form of art. We loved the salad. It was one of the best Burrata experience with a slight touch of sweetness, the figs made a great combination with the Burrata. The stuffed egg plant was even more impressive, never seen an egg plant so beautiful and was heavily stuffed with beef, pomodoro sauce, cheese and pine nuts. It was not just about a beautiful looking dish and they were even tasting great.
The Roasted Salmon came in a beautiful bowl and tasted great. The roasted salmon was crisp and the truffle espuma made it even better. Surely enjoyed every inch of the Salmon. The short ribs had a great flavor and was super tender. We loved the touch of pumpkin puree for the meat, it was a palatable pair.
For desserts their milk cakes are quite famous. We went for their date cake but to be honest, we loved the ice cream more than date cake. The date cake was a little too dry to my liking. They have an interesting collection of home made cakes. We probably should try some of those next time. They make great coffee. We tried the Lavender Cappuccino which was outstanding. One of the best coffees you can taste in Dubai.
