Being Ramadan OSH had a special offering of ramadan drinks which is normally not part of their drinks menu. They have some fancy mocktails available in their regular drinks menu and we felt the ramadan drinks at OSH was not using the classic recipe but rather a Mocktail inspired recipe hence their ramadan drinks tasted different from the traditional one. They came very pretty on the table though, but we would prefer to have the classic recipe which I thought was better.

Lentil Soup
Mastawa soup

SOUP

Both soups available in their ramadan menu have been amazing. The lentil soup came thick and had a nice flavor to it whereas the Mastawa soup was a clear soup with rice and vegetables inside the soup and was delicious. The Mastawa soup was a very unique soup and felt really good in the stomach especially when we were fasting.

Falafel – Hot starter
Mixed Samsa – Hot Starter
Cold Mezze – Hummus, Moutabel, Muhammara
Salads – Georgian & Garden Salad
Sides – French Fries

STARTERS

They had simple salads consisting mainly cucumbers, tomatoes and onions. I preferred the garden salad which is more light and enjoyed the leaves, long cut onions and dressing in it. Loved their thick potato fries as a side. The 3 classic Arabic dippers were amazing which was the Hummus, Muhammara and Moutabel and along with it came the hot fluffy breads which was good enough to stuff us really well. My favorite was the Mix Samsa from the lot but I regret to see miniature version of the original ones. It was too little to be satisfied. They were like peanuts to me and I just wished they made the portion size more generous as Samsa is one of the all time favorites at OSH. The falafel and tahini was a great combo, the Tahini specially was outstanding.

OSH rice & meat
Mixed Grill – chicken, lamb kofta, chicken kofta
Sea Bream Fillet

MAINS

For the mains, The mixed grill is obviously the first pick for most. The grills also come with special bread(Parata). The OSH spiced rice has always been our favorite which comes with a mix of lamb and vegetables. It’s a perfect main for a fasting body. The sea bream fillet tasted fresh, fleshy and was over too soon.

Chak – Chak
Saffron Milk Cake

DESSERT

The desserts for Iftar starts on a good note by having them served in full size. No miniature model for this one and the saffron milk cake is the one to try. The Saffron Milk Cake was super soft and heavily soaked in saffron milk which made it even more lush and a mouth watering treat. The Chak Chak which is a deep fried dough in honey, is the national sweet in Russia and you need to have a special liking for it. It might not be a favorite for everyone especially when they have a luscious milk cake as an option. Click pictures below to see them in full screen view. Click here to visit their official website.
