Logma is all about Dubai’s local cuisine. If you always wanted to experience and taste the local favourites to Dubai then this is the restaurant that you should visit. A locally born concept, is a one stop shop to all the hit classics to Dubai. Logma does a wonderful job in presenting the local heritage and cuisine on a dining set in a beautiful way. We loved everything we tried here and they reminded us of all the classics we’ve been having since the 80’s. I am glad Logma has done a good job of selecting them for their menu and they surely make an impression. Also expect menu items such as Samboosa, Egg Paratha, Biriyani, so it’s not the typical Arabic cuisine you should expect but Dubai’s real favourite cuisines.
You see all their servers in the classic attire representing their heritage with once used oil lamps of the past seen hanging on the restaurant ceiling. It’s a new restaurant so everything feels new in here. They also have a balcony seating with a first class view of the dancing fountain at The Dubai Mall. The servers have been friendly, polite and plenty of them to support you for a quicker service. Also the orders came quickly to our table.
They’ve got some fantastic selection of drinks. You might find Mocktails and Milkshakes everywhere but not the kind you find here such as the Vimto Frappe or the Iced Karak. The Mocktails are colorful and plenty to drink as they come in large glass bottles. From the mocktails I highly recommend to try the Sunset which was the prettiest mocktail from the lot and had plenty of fresh ingredients to make you feel good. I felt the Jumeirah blues was just color & lime so really that should be your last try from the lot. If you love Milk Shakes, then Logma shake made of Dates, banana, milk, ice cream and honey is the one to try. Really thick, cold and you surely will enjoy every sip.
This was the second time I was having the water melon feta salad and it was a delicious combination of water melon and feta cheese. Something that we never expect but it was a great combination of fruits, cheese and green vegetables. The salad was rejuvenating.
We then started of with the hot starters and let’s say is one of the best part at Logma. They have an impressive collection of hot appetizers. The samboosa should be one of the first items you must try. Samboosa comes in cheese, chicken, vegetable and beef. We tried the beef today and it was outstanding! It’s interesting how thin and crisp the pastry of the samboosa was and the thick filling of beef made it even better. The Dynamite shrimps come here with a twist and I feel they have a winning formula for dynamite shrimp as we remember seeing almost all tables order this particular item. The shrimps were really jumbo, it was draped in their signature Dakkous sauce and interestingly on top was the Omani chips(A local famous chips).
For mains they have unique items in their menu. It starts with their signature Khameer sandwiches. Khameer is supposed to be a locally specialized Emarati flatbread. Although they were plenty of non veg Khameer sandwiches, we opted for the one and only veg Khameer sandwich on their menu which was stuffed with Halloumi cubes as the highlight. The sandwich was really good, thanks to a healthy stuffing of tomatoes, mint, lettuce, pomegranate seeds, apple dressing with sun dried tomato and basil walnut, but can be a turn off for those who generally don’t enjoy tomatoes as they was an overwhelming stuffing of tomatoes along with those Halloumi cubes in this sandwich. The Kebab Parathas was also nice with an interesting combination of flavours put together. The parathas were also crispy.
The Logma Lamb Biriyani was really impressive especially with the quality of meat. The biriyani comes in a clay pot covered by a thick freshly baked Paratha. Once you cut open, you find rice on the top with fried onion. Bottom is where you find chunks of lamb and lots of it! That was the best part of the Biriyani. Lots of lamb for all those meat lovers and the masala in the biriyani was well balanced and had the right level of spice to enjoy and even kids could enjoy it.
Oh yes, they have some specials in their dessert section as well. The Logma Toast is a unique proposition of the original French Toast. Honestly it reminded me a little of the Saffron milk cake in between. The quality ice cream, the kunafa and the bread soaked in saffron along with drips of dates syrup was pleasantly rich. Just loved everything about this piece of Toast and is a must try for those who generally admire French Toasts. The Pistacho Mafroukeh is one of the arabic classic desserts, you need to have a taste for this pistachio rich dessert as too much of nuts can give it a different taste of sweetness for a dessert. The mastika ice cream on top of the Mafroukeh was the real treat for me as the ice cream was just unbelievably good.
