Pacific Groove is a brand new restaurant launched inside the mighty new glamorous hotel. There is a touch of Hollywood all around the hotel. Pacific Groove is a sweet spot for an intimate time with good food & music, surrounded by glamour and luxury. Pacific Groove has a clean 2 page food menu where one side is dedicated to hot and cold starters such as Ceviches, Crudos, Salads, Sushis. The other side of the sheet is dedicated to their magnificent wood fire grills. Steak lovers should definitely should make a note of this restaurant.
The restaurant is a spacious one with Californian inspired interior design. The seating arrangements are spread across the restaurant in a panoramic fashion, with a combination of wooden flooring, marble tops, leather seats, the restaurant is made to look glamorous and luxurious. One of the highlight is their open kitchen, where you get to see wood fire grill in action with LIVE cooking of sizzling steaks and seafood. Wood fire means they use real wood for fire with no gas in use.
It all begins with their warm Sour dough bread which is cut in thick slices. The butter had a stamp of the hotel on it which was pretty cool to see on a butter. The warm cripsy bread alone was alluring. Mocktails didn’t have the good looks or style as we expected. One of the mocktail was called A WOMAN’S TRIUMP consisting of honey dew melon, orange juice and peach which had a nice soothing taste to it and was my favourite.
They have some fantastic set of starters. We started with the simple watermelon. We thought it was too little for the price, yet the watermelon starter was a pleasant experience especially with that combination of goat cheese. The deep fried squid with padron peppers was the real deal on the table. Everyone was jumping on it, the whole combination of fried quid, padron peppers and the dipper made it an irresistible one. The Sushi was easily filling and you enjoy it very much when you dip them in the given soy sauce.
The Grilled meats were the best part of our dinner. Surely, they do a good job with the Wood Fire Grill. The steaks we tried today were unbelievably juicy and tender, especially the 18 hour Wagyu Short Ribs which was just a melt in the mouth, and so delicate that they would just fall of the cutlery. They do a fabulous job at the Grill station and the restaurant is to be appreciated for it’s quality of beef. You had the option of 4 sauces from Chimichurri, Smoked pineapple salsa, Tomato salsa, Lemon grass butter sauce. Both Chimichurri and lemon grass butter sauce were luscious and made the meal even more alluring. You could also pick one side for your steak and we picked the Portobello mushroom which you can’t get wrong.
We loved our sweet ending. Both our desserts more or less looked the same in concept. It is mainly a 3 layer rhythm of a unique base, cream and ice cream. They were different from each other in flavour, one was more fruity and the other was more chocolate. It was real joy eating them especially the chocolate version called the Absolute Chocolate, loved every inch of it.
