Todays’ post is about our breakfast at Fixie Cafe which is a cycling inspired cafe at Adagio Premium The Palm. If you are a cyclist then Fixie Cafe should be in your bucket list. The cafe has special offers and compliments for cyclists who visit them. I remember them having a 50% off on the entire menu on world bicycle day and even offers free coffee at times, if you visit the cafe with your bike. So make sure you follow them on their social media pages to get the latest update on their offers. The Fixie cafe is also located on a cycling route near Palm West Beach and ittihad Park. The Ala carte menu has a healthy selection of exciting salads, gluten free dishes and an array of detox juices and smoothies. The service has been friendly and we were well taken care during our breakfast.
The interior is pretty and as expected has a cycle theme in the cafe. At the entrance of the cafe, you would also find hotel bicycles parked, which is usually complimentary for hotel guests for a joy ride. The chandliers and the walls have a piece of cycle in them. It’s a nice airy restaurant with plenty of light pouring in from glass windows which makes it perfect for a breakfast morning. You also have outdoor seating but the mornings today is really hot, so everyone is seated inside the restaurant. The location of the cafe is just a stone away from the beautiful Palm West Beach.
We loved the coffee here. I remember how much I was enjoying my Spanish latte, it was simply irresistible. They also have interesting detoxers for those who look forward to some really healthy drinks. The energy booster detoxer drink was the right balance for me, whereas the dark green detoxers were more strong with ingredients such as kale, spinach, broccoli making the difference and might not be a favourite for all, especially for the ones with a sweet tooth. Their beverage menu was so long that I completely missed the smoothie section which is usually my favourite cold drink. They can make drinks from coconut milk, almond milk and fresh milk, you name it they’ve got the solution for you.
You can opt for their breakfast buffet or order from their ala carte menu. We tried a combination of both. The buffet usually is with a selection of hot main and unlimited selection of croissants, breads, dry fruits, jam and variety of mixed yoghurts along with selection of juices(we got orange and watermelon). Unfortunately there isn’t any hot beverage covered in the breakfast buffet price. This is the one breakfast where I thoroughly appreciated museli and yoghurts cause they make it amazing here and in different varieties such as yoghurt and mango, yoghurt and berry, even coconut milk with chia which were all pretty good. The croissants felt fresh but overall we felt the selection was limited compared to the buffet price which could be a turn off to some.
The hot main selection is a little tricky, when you actually read the selection you expect a big breakfast platter but in reality it’s just a small portion of main with little bit of sides. The power booster omlette which comes in Fixie signature breakfast was my favourite. I thought the omlette was really different and good tasting too. We also tried the vegan options, I guess if you don’t have a vegan tooth then you might not enjoy it as much. But the fact they do have a vegan option available, for those who want vegan only, which is kind of trending now a days.
For the sweet tooth, they do have a selection of waffles, french toast, pancakes available as part of their breakfast buffet selection. Everything was mini and thin but I usually like these sweet ones thicker. The French toast was like a typical bread soaked in egg, didn’t get the real french toast experience. Waffle was the best from the lot, pancakes were mini size and all of them came with maple syrup as a standard. They could have made it more exciting by adding some more layers of toppings. We tried the Acai Berry from the ala carte and it was mind blowing. Heavily loaded for a morning and it was a lot to enjoy. Highly recommend to try this one, if you love Acai in general.
