Soups (choice of 1)

  • lentil soup
  • Mastawa
Dates
Soups – Lentil and Mastawa soup

These aren’t ordinary soups. Very different and interesting in texture and taste. I was in complete love with both of them, the mastawa was more liquid with rice in it whereas the lentil soup was one of the best lentil soup I’ve had which was thick in texture and those large fried onions was the best part in the soup. Also noticed that the lentil soup stayed hot for a long time whereas the mastawa cooled down too quick.

Drinks – Jallab and Tamar Hindi

Drinks (choice of 1)

  • Amar al din
  • Tamar Hindi
  • Jallab

Jallab was the clear winner to me from the drinks section. Tamar Hindi was a little too sour to my liking. Had to ask for more Jallab as there were really addictive. If you ask for no ice, then expect no cold at all and it’s less exciting when it’s not cold.

Appetizer – Olivier
Appetizer – Babaganoush
Appetizer – watermelon salad
Appetizer – Hummus and Bread

Cold starters (choice of 3)

  • Hummus
  • Olivier salad
  • Baba Ghanoush
  • Marinated olives
  • Watermelon salad

The appetizers were exciting. The homemade hot breads came as standard which was a nice combo with their tantalizing hummus and baba ghanoush. I can say they make an impressive baba ganoush here, it was better than their hummus, even though hummus was great as well. The watermelon salad was so pleasant and you enjoyed it along with those little bites of cheese in between. Marinated olives were like any other olives, if you had the option of only 3, then you might as well skip them. The Olivier salad was like a main by itself. It’s very eggy and if you are not an egg fan then you might want to skip this item, else it’s an item that will fill your tummy really well as it’s really rich.

Main course (choice of 1)

  • chicken cutlet
  • Vegetarian OSH
  • Lamb kofta
Mains – Lamb Kofta
Mains – chicken cutlet

The Lamb Kofta was outstanding which comes on top their classic roti. The chicken cutlet gets a high mark for it’s presentation and it was challenging to eat both pieces of cutlet by now. Although they all look little on plate, they’ve been challenging to finish as by now we are already full.

Sides – Achichuk and Tandoori Bread

Sides (choice of 1)

  • French Fries
  • Achichuk
  • Tandoori Bread

You also get a side. French fries are just the regular thick fries, so we skipped it to for the Uzbek specials. The Tandoori bread was just a thick homemade bread, no stuffing in it either. The Achichuk was impressive, the tomatoes never tasted so good.

Dessert – Fresh fruits
Dessert – Paklava

Dessert (choice of 1)

  • Fruit platter
  • Paklava

For desserts they had only one special item called the Paklava, which is very different from the famous baklava that we know. Paklava mainly consist of cinnamon, walnuts. A little dry compared to a baklava but eating the thin flaky phyllo dough was nice. Fresh fruits is other option which was actually nice as there were ripe and sweet.
