I wouldn’t disagree with ibis Tempo Terrace buffet labelled as a ‘Must-Do lunch’ as it had everything to satisfy one’s lunch buffet craving. It was sheer value for money especially when you find LIVE carving stations and pasta cooking stations. A wide range of quality salads at the salad bar. Different kinds of cheese, dry fruits and nuts. A long stretch of mains and dessert. You also have unlimited soft drinks for this buffet.

Tempo Terrace is a spacious restaurant inside the IBIS DCC which is located opposite to Deira City Center. Tempo Terrace is well located on the ground floor and not on the roof top as one would expect from it’s name. There were a few tourists and bunch of business executives at the buffet. It’s not surprising considering it’s a weekday brunch. There wasn’t any waiting at the carving station nor the other areas of the buffet which was a plus point.

For drinks you have unlimited water and soft drinks which was good enough for us but courtesy the restaurant we did get a few compliments. One of them being their mocktail. The pineapple mocktail was just amazing. Really good but unfortunately not part of the 65 AED buffet. What were impressed was the quality buffet we get for the price. Looking at the brand IBIS we didn’t have high expectations but they just got us all wrong. It was a mesmerizing buffet and we thoroughly enjoyed our buffet hours at Tempo Terrace. You had a selection of breads and soup on a corner. The buffet starts on a great note with their salad bar. They offer an amazing collection of salads at the salad bar. It’s international so you find little bit of everything. No matter which one you tried, they all were different from each other and very satisfying. The kale and Quinoa salad would be my favourite pick from the lot. I personally enjoyed the salad bar very much. Next to it was a collection of pretty looking well arranged cheese, nut and dry fruits.

The carving station was the obvious star of the show and the center piece of attraction for many. Fortunately it was lamb today which was my favourite. I believe the menu keeps changing on a daily basis, so it could be a fish instead of meat tomorrow at the carving station. The restaurant wasn’t as busy so the lamb was in good shape for the most part and we were able to comfortably choose our favourite sides of the lamb. I just went for well cooked areas of the giant piece of roasted lamb which was just succulent. The LIVE pasta station was impressive. You could pick the kind of pasta you needed which was plenty in choice, your selection of sauces and ingredients needed. Making your own pasta was exciting and they come fresh to your table so they obviously tasted a little extra special especially when you see it being freshly cooked right in front of you. I wonder if everybody actually spots the LIVE pasta station because it’s tucked in a corner where nobody would really notice.

Chicken Cordon Bleu
Beef Lasagna
Chana masala with chapatti
Chicken Kabsa
Vermicelli rice, Hot butter fish, Vegetable tagine with couscous

You also find a long stretch of other mains. Once again it’s international so you have a blend of everything. My favourite out of the lot would be the Chicken cordon bleu, beef lasagna and hot butter fish. They make good food here and really impressed with the wide range and selection they offer. The Indian main which was chana masala and chapathi looked honestly boring as compared to others. Probably the least enticing to me. Maybe the vegetarians see it differently.

By the time we reached desserts, we were quite full already. So it was difficult to try each one of them, although that was the original plan when I entered the restaurant. Tiramisu was well moving and the special warm dessert which was the Orange Marmalade bread pudding was unique as you don’t find it served in other restaurant buffets. The Chef was kind enough to throw in his signature motlen chocolate cake to our table which was mind blowing. Honestly, that’s the dessert I enjoyed the most which also came with 2 different ice creams. Tempo Terrace ‘must do lunch’ buffet is definitely worth a visit if you are looking out for a reasonably priced buffet.
