The Stage at the Paramount hotel did set a stage for us to be called as one of the best Iftar attended this year so far. It’s been an amazing ride of dishes at The Stage restaurant for Iftar. Mainly Middle Eastern but they also offer some of the best of other parts of the world. A wide open restaurant who have their buffet stretch from one end to the other end of the hotel. The restaurant is busy and it’s no surprise as it was truly a five star Iftar. The food has been amazing here and we loved so many of the dishes. There are plenty of LIVE stations, best of BBQ meats, Authentic Emarati specialities, LIVE stir fry beef station, LIVE pasta cooking station, and even a LIVE sandwich station making you different kinds of meat sandwiches. It was the rare buffet where we also got to eat unlimited authentic Turkish desserts such as the hot pistachio baklavas and cold Turkish ice creams. Kids are also happy as there is a dedicated KIDS corner for them with a buffet station at their height level and a menu with their favourites such as the burgers, pasta, hotdogs donuts etc.
Price:
AED 195 – per person
AED 95 – kids (6 – 11 Years Old)
The stage restaurant is a long open restaurant located on the first floor of Paramount hotel. You have also have prayer rooms arranged close to the restaurant which makes it very convenient. Although a big restaurant, the man power in house is good enough to take care of all our needs and handle a big crowd. The restaurant was running on almost 100% capacity and it’s no surprise as The Stage restaurant serves an amazing array of dishes that can impress anyone. A glass bottled water comes to every table. The drinks station consists of the traditional ramadan drinks which is the Tamarind, Jallab, Ayraan and Vimto.
They have a long stretch of salads, cold mezzeh, hot mezzeh and different kinds of cheese. It’s impossible to try each one of them, otherwise you are going to end up just staring at the mains. They look so pretty and they tasted great too. Kids had their own section of buffet where they could pick up their favourite dishes such as the beef burgers, sausage rolls, pizzas, donuts. I did have a bite of their pizza and it tasted fabulous especially when they are being freshly made. It was actually a fast moving counter. They do have plenty of LIVE stations and one of them being their shawarma and zaatar saj. The shawarmas are neatly cut into smaller pieces so you could just pick the quantity you need instead of the entire sandwich. The shawarmas was one of the first meat I had for the day and that first bite into that chunky shawarma was unbelievably good! Loved the flavours that was coming out of it. Simply superb. The Zaatar saj on the other hand was thin as a blade with a neat stuffing of zaatar on a thin piece of saj and it being toasted, you really start appreciating Zaatar & saj combo. They were so many eye openers at this Iftar, as they tasted fresh and authentic.
Let’s not forget the meats. The skewers and grilled meats where in high demand and ofcourse they were irresistible. This section would be the most in demand and luckily they ensured they were will multiple stations for the LIVE grill station hence we had a smooth flow of the buffet for the meats. Each kinds of meat had it’s own marination and flavour to it. The Lamb Ouzi was also another star attraction. There was plenty of lamb till the end.
There were plenty of LIVE stations too. One of the busiest LIVE stations would be the Pasta station where everyone ordered their own customized pasta. There was also an interesting station next to it which specialized in Egyptian sandwiches. The stir beef fry LIVE station was also an Asian speciality where you select your vegetables mainly. There was also a Indian bread section where you see them making fresh Indian breads in clay oven but now when I think about it, I don’t remember seeing any curries for the Indian breads except pickles next to it.
The best part of the desserts were clearly the Turkish delights. This was one of the rare Iftar that provided premium Turkish desserts. This alone will easily justify the price of the buffet. The desserts including pastries kept coming in fresh and tasted original. Kids would surround their ice cream station which was being served in a cup or cone. They also had hot cheese kunafa and Umm Ali. They did have other pastries but it was over whelming to try all of it. We started our Iftar at The Stage on a high note and it also ends on a high note. It’s one of those restaurants which doesn’t compromise and gives you and end to end quality delight from beginning to start. A truly 5 star Iftar which we can’t recommend more.
