Helios, a roof top lounge restaurant serving Greek cuisine mainly. The beautiful views from the rooftop is a key seller for Helios restaurant. The view of the sea, islands and the city from the rooftop is breath taking. The swimming pool at the entrance is exclusive for long-term residents of Galleria. It would be a good idea to visit the restaurant close to the sunset hour so you enjoy the beautiful colors of the sky and the cozy atmosphere it creates. Thankfully the weather is much better in the evening. The summer is definitely on it’s way out. There is an air conditioned glass room on the roof top where they make you drinks and you can dine in, but the real cooking happens at the truck parked outside on the rooftop next to the pool.
The views are amazing. Unfortunately you need to be standing to get a good view or get a high chair for a complete view. They do have high chairs and tables next to the views and windows. Being a Greek restaurant, they had a greek theme on the inside with light interiors. Helios rooftop lounge is all about relaxing and taking your time slow.
I must admit the drinks were pretty looking but there was a ton of Ice in it that we couldn’t really feel the real flavour of the mocktail. I suggest you tell them to have less Ice in your drinks when you order. The starters were pretty good. The pita breads were hot and crispy. You could simply munch on them and spent the time here. The feta cheese and the tomato sauce combination was too good. The hunkar Bengendi is a must order and felt like a main than a starter. The beef on it was the best part. The vine leaves were typical in taste.
The Gyro Merida Beef Platter is a must try as they serve good tasting beef here. The fries and the traditional yoghurt that came along with it were yummy. I think the Mousaka was the real winner from our mains section which was cheesy, beefy and delicious. The chicken on the chicken skewers were as expected but the cheese spinach quiche that came as a side was not my kind and I think you really need to have a taste for it.
We picked the traditional greek desserts from their menu and I think the green orange pie was the favourite for many. The chocolate wasn’t the best that we’ve had. The greek apple cake did a better job. I think they stuck to the traditional greek desserts so they tasted very new and different. Loved the ice creams on them but overall I felt the desserts could get better.
