The first attention were the lights in this vehicle. Be it inside or outside they’ve done an amazing job on how these lights operate. The ambient lighting as well as the external lighting effects are just a joy to watch. As the driver approaches the vehicle, the exterior lights would turn on animated. When driver reaches the door, the door would automatically unlock. When the door is open, seats would go backward so the driver can comfortably get inside the vehicle. Once seated, the driver seat would automatically adjust to the drivers original driving position. The instrument cluster would have a cinematic show, greeting ‘hello’ to the driver in the vehicle. When the radio is ON, you can see the ambient lights of the interior dancing to the tone.
13.2-inch infotainment system is a good size screen in the front. A touch screen is where you operate most of the accessory in the vehicle including opening of the trunk. There are no dedicated buttons in the center for AC vents or radio control. However the driver can control the radio from the steering wheel, otherwise there really aren’t any buttons found. Apple carplay would connect wirelessly and so no cords required. The integration between the iphone and apple carplay is seamless and makes it so convenient. The infinity speakers were ok. Love the extra space found underneath the center console, very useful to store handbags and is the same space where you find the 2 usb-c charing port. Seats are extremely comfortable with 12 ways adjustable and they are ventilated seats too. Headup display is commendable for it’s clarity. I like the fact they the vehicle would detect the speed limit board on it’s way and display it to the drivers instrument console and Head up Display so incase you missed it, it’s there for you to see.
One unique feature about the driver seat was the dedicated sound speaker on the headrest. So any exclusive calls can just be heard by the driver and doesn’t have to necessarily be played on the car audio speakers for everyone to hear. You can also personalize your ambient lighting to your liking. 360 degree HD camera helps when parking and also displays the car in 3D for a quick understanding of the situation. Clearly Starray is an SUV packed with useful technology that really enhances the driving experience.
