From the moment you arrive at El Nafoura, the tranquil and inviting atmosphere immediately sets the tone for a memorable Iftar. The restaurant’s traditional Mediterranean charm is enhanced with soft lighting and elegant touches, creating a serene and peaceful environment to break your fast. During Ramadan, the outdoor terrace, overlooking the lush greens of the Montgomerie golf course, becomes an ideal spot for enjoying the cooler evening air while indulging in a lavish spread. The soothing sounds of water trickling from the fountains only add to the overall ambiance, making it an unforgettable setting for a meal with loved ones. It honestly felt like at a wedding with golden chairs, tables, spread across in a large space but close to each other. I think little bit spacing between each table should help as some areas felt a bit too close to each other. It’s perfect for bigger groups and I think that’s what happens here most of the time.

Iftar buffet spread

The Iftar buffet at El Nafoura is spectacular. The spread is a beautiful blend of traditional Middle Eastern delicacies and Mediterranean-inspired dishes, offering a diverse range of flavors that cater to all tastes. As the call to prayer signals the time to break your fast which is projected LIVE on big screens, guests are invited to enjoy an array of fresh fruits, dates, and a selection of refreshing beverages, including traditional Jallab and Tamarind juice, to begin the evening. Moreover you will find hot drinks such as coffee/ tea and classic arabic drinks coming around your table.

The buffet is a true celebration of the season, featuring a rich assortment of hot and cold mezze, such as creamy hummus, muhammara, tabbouleh, and baba ganoush, each bursting with flavor. For those with a love for grilled meats, there is a tantalizing selection of skewers and kebabs, prepared to perfection and served hot off the grill. The main courses are equally impressive, with dishes like tender lamb ouzi, and Mediterranean-style roasted chicken. The salad bar was personally my favourite. It was an amazing spread where you found all that you wanted. Except for the Tabbouleh, I personally enjoyed everything else from here. They had 2 kinds of Indian curry, mutton and butter chicken but I didn’t find any Indian roti as such. You also had hot appetizers such as the kibbeh, cheese sambousek, spinach fatayer. The cheese sambousek was one of the best I’ve had which was light and at the same time cheesy inside. There was also a LIVE pasta station where you could have pasta freshly made your way.

El Nafoura’s spread includes a variety of sweet treats, from the ever-popular baklava to rich cream kunafa and refreshing fruit salad station. It was mainly Arabic desserts and in between some of those signature english desserts such as the cheesecake, eclair. I was the first few to pick up the cheese cake but never saw them come back after they got finished from the deck. The Arabic desserts were constantly being re-loaded and they did have some really good ones like the pistachio mafroukeh.
