The cutleries, napkins, glass all follows a uniform theme of the sea. Large windows allows natural sun light to pour in. The outdoor terrace is an ideal spot for enjoying the pleasant Dubai weather, particularly in the cooler months. It was a bit warm in the afternoon today, so we decided to pick a seat on the inside. Cold Appetizers(Tabbouleh, Hummus Beiruti, vine leaves)

The Start
All diners are served with complimentary almonds on ice while they wait for their meal. We also tried a unique lemonade drink mixed with Zaater which had a lovely middle eastern touch to it. The mezze platter is an enticing start to the meal, offering a variety of dips like hummus, Mouthabal, all paired with warm pita bread. The tabbouleh is refreshingly bright with its fresh parsley, tomatoes, and zesty lemon dressing. The freshness of the seafood is evident in every bite, and the platters are beautifully arranged with vibrant garnishes like lemon wedges, herbs, and dipping sauces. For seafood lovers, it’s an absolute must-try. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted to highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients, and the presentation is nothing short of stunning. The mezzeh were true to authenticity and is one of the best you could experience. The glossy vine leaves was one of the finest. It was so delicious and we couldn’t stop going after it. The FISH ARAYES, PRAWNS PROVENÇAL are some of the seafood appetizers you are going to enjoy. The prawns were juicy and the fish arayes was a unique taste to our palate as we’ve been only having MEAT arayes all this time. The fried potatoes were crispy and addictive. The cheese sticks vanished from the plate with a blink of an eye. Loved how they presented the hot pita breads which came covered in a cloth. The hot breads were large and puffy. The Muthabbal was unique and never have seen it come this way before. The egg plants are clearly visible this time.

Main course
The grilled seabass is a standout dish—light, flaky, and charred to perfection, with a smoky undertone that’s complemented by a drizzle of olive oil and lemon. You also have the option to have it spicy or just lemon herb. The other main we tried was fried fish which was a little challenging due to more bones in it. The best part is that you don’t need to worry about the fish bones because they’re staff can remove it for you on request. However I would stick to the grilled fish where the seasoning was—just a light brushing of olive oil, crushed garlic, lemon zest, and a scattering of fresh herbs. That’s it. No fuss. No heavy sauces to mask the fish. The simplicity was its strength.

The lunch ends with a beautiful fruit platter and cheese kunafa. The cheese kunafa was pretty good and authentic. With its gorgeous location, top-notch seafood, and impeccable service, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely afternoon meal with loved ones. Whether you’re a seafood aficionado or simply looking for a place that offers a mix of Mediterranean flavors and fresh, seasonal ingredients, Samakje delivers on all fronts. If you’re in Dubai, make sure to add it to your list for a dining experience that’s as memorable as the views. Fresh and flavorful seafood, excellent service, relaxing atmosphere.
