Today our breakfast was at the famous US Eatery made with lots of Love and butter. Besides the catchy Clinton name attached to it, they have some admirable baked goods and American cuisine to keep you coming back to this company. We love pancakes and we had to be in here this month as February is dedicated to Pancakes at Clinton Street with special flavours served all day.
We were first here on the opening night of Clinton Street Baking Company in City Walk. Treated to some of their scrumptious dishes in the menu, we couldn’t resist ourselves from coming back again. Being a brand new restaurant the interiors, seating, cutlery were all new. Nicely located at the new extension of City Walk where you can also opt to sit outside in a less crowded atmosphere as opposed to other areas of City Walk. So far I haven’t managed to find a parking right below it, there’s been a little of walking to do to reach the restaurant.
Clinton Street is quite well known for their freshly made bakery. While I was standing at the counter I noticed a king size Banana Loaf with stack of walnuts sitting on top, I thought I must try it right away. After having it, I’d say it’s a little over priced banana bread which tasted ordinary. Mixed Berry Scone was a little different. Light, Soft and would immediately melt in your mouth. Scones lovers are surely going to love this which is stuffed with loads of berries.
For drinks we had a nice coffee and their signature shake. These shakes are made using their in house made ice creams and I was in complete love with this chocolate peanut butter shake. It was thick and I’d say it’s one of the best chocolate peanut butter shakes I’ve had. Usually, it even prettier with a whip on top which I had not opted. They also have a buy one get one offer for their shakes in the evenings during a particular time period.
Then came the eye popping breakfasts for the day. I would say the brioche french Toast was one of the most tempting french toast. It surely gets a 5 star for presentation. The warm maple butter is really nice and much better in taste than other maple sauces you get elsewhere. The roasted pecans and caramelized bananas gives a big boost to the experience of Brioche french Toast. But If i remove all of this and just taste the Bread, I’d say the french toast alone wasn’t great enough. For me the best Brioche French Toast is still at THE BRASS cafe.
Pancakes are not to be missed here specially this month as they have come with a unique collection of different flavours of pancakes on each day. The sad part is you need to be there on the same day as per their calendar to get a particular flavour. so if you come on a different date, they can only offer you what is the flavour for the day. So look at their pancake flavour schedule on their February calendar and choose your date to visit. I’d say the experience we had with the coconut pancakes blended with caremelized pineapple, brulee’d bananas, roasted macademia nuts was a unique one. Not often you get to try such flavours,. I thought it was a brilliant idea by the restaurant. Once again the maple butter here is outstanding.
The only savory on our table was the country breakfast. The country breakfast came with the butter milk biscuit which is one of their signature item that you must try. It was warm and soft and you definitely can appreciate the quality of this one. The chicken apple sausage was unique. They looked like home made cutlets and tasted much better than a typical sausage. Some might feel the hash browns are closer to the mash potatoes.
In short I need to come back here to try more of their All day breakfasts, shakes, bakes. Click here to see their menu on their official page. Click below to see pictures in full screen view:
