The interiors shows you a blend of the local heritage and the Western culture. I love their designer chairs. Infact one table has 4 different kinds of chairs. It would be wooden, leather, soft but they are of utmost comfort and they make you feel at home. I wasn’t surprised when I saw many of them happy to be staying long discussing, working, meeting at this coffee shop. It’s an artistic setup which makes you feel good being here and can get your creative minds working well.

The Brass has mastered the art of coffee making. Their Coffee beans are sourced from Indonesia, India, Malawi, Kenya, Ethiopia, Yemen, Nicaragua and Peru. They can make you different blends of coffee. Besides their signature coffee, classics, steamers, signature teas, ICED, eastern, they can also serve you coffee in different methods such as French Press, Siphon, Pour Over, Cold drip. I don’t think they spared any category for beverages.

We tried one of their signatures called the Lavender honey latte and we were in complete awe with it. The moment it reaches your table, the aroma would hit your nose reminding what The Brass is all about. It was a brand new taste created and we began to appreciate their specialization in coffee. The coolest looking coffee on our table was the Greek Frappe, it wasn’t thick or sweet but a strong cold coffee.

Green Tea special
Matcha Green Tea

Let me proudly present you the next product which is yet to be launched on their menu called the Matcha Green Tea. I love milk in my drink, be it Tea or Coffee. The Matcha powdered green tea is usually 10 times better than the regular brewed tea. It’s usually healthier and has much more antioxidants as well. I was fortunate that the restaurant manager gave me an opportunity to try this high quality healthy Green Matcha tea.

Cookies - AED 8 per piece
Cookies – AED 8 per piece

Here is a cookie that you want to try at The Brass. The cookie with a marshamallow on top is not to be missed. This one was gooey and that marshmallow with caramel on top makes this cookie an irresistible combination. It would literally melt in the mouth. The double chocolate cookie below, is brittle in nature with a heavy punch of dark chocolate.

The Brass Salad – AED 45 – Brass version of Fattoush, made with Shaved Fennel, Heirloom Tomatoes, Red Onion, Romaine, Roca Radish, Pomegranate Dressing

I have no words for the salad. It’s was an addictive one. The original fattoush is actually modified with their motto where East meets West, which elevates the taste of the traditional Arabic Fattoush. Even kids who never eat salad wanted to have it all. Brilliant dressing. I only wished they increased their portion size for the salad. Felt the salad was too little.

One of the best French Toast I’ve had and you definitely want to try this. They’ve got a plain one as well but please go for the chocolate version. Here the chocolate is just for the good and is only making this French toast even better. It’s all thanks to the amazing bread they use for the French toast. I felt it was the same kind of bread used for The Brass Croque Monsieur as well, where the bread was super soft and that cheese on top gave it an overwhelming experience. Both these creations deserve an A+ . These two would be their strengths and most people would come back just to have them again.

The Moroccan spiced pulled lamb Flatbread was different but nothing extra ordinary about it. I might want to try some of their other flatbreads next time.

Lotus cake(Speculoos) – AED 24

They do have a lovely bakery displayed at the counter. Among them is where you see a selection of cakes. The Speculoos is what really impressed me from their 3 cake slices we tried. The texture of the cake was light and soft like a Tiramisu cake but it was a lotus flavour. Does fill you up easily and is a delight to enjoy this slice anytime of the day.

Rose Water Cheesecake - AED 24
Rose Water Cheesecake – AED 24

The Rosewater cheesecake is one of their signature cheese cakes. Very unique and never heard of this one in Dubai before. This one really explains East meets West. To be frank, the first time you try you will be impressed for it’s unique taste and flavour but I have a feeling you can get tired of it quickly unlike the original one.

Pecan Tart - AED 24
Pecan Tart – AED 24

I love pecans and this pecan tart is one of the best looking tarts I’ve seen at a counter. I surely couldn’t resist not trying this slice. But this pecan tart was different. The inner content was a blend of chocolate and dates. Somehow this combination was not very convincing to me.

At the end of the day The Brass is an outstanding cafe for it’s unique selection of beverages and food. It’s unlike the regular cafes and is a must visit if you still haven’t been here. They surely have crafted a unique signature for themselves in this market and I see a good future for them. Click here to visit their official website.
