Here’s a hearty brunch for you from Moombai & Co. Their Saturday Brunch will feed you like a king. Moombai and Co will take you back to the past. Great Indian cinema of the 70s and 80s can be found hanging all around this cafe with VCR, radio and television which was once proudly owned in the 80s can be found here to see. Their Saturday Brunch actually named as Aunties Brunch is available for any 3 hours between 11:00am and 04:00pm for AED 245 (non-alcoholic package).

Valet parking is covered by the hotel if you are visiting Moombai & Co. It’s a typical Indian street in here. Famous Indian celebrities of the past and their movies is stuck all around this cafe. Fellow servers have kept fancy mustache or beard. They also have a sweet kids corner to keep the kids busy which was very handy for us. The waiting area and the lounge in the cafe existed with comfortable cushioned sofas to relax.
DRINKS
MOOMBAI & CO BRUNCH starts with ChaiMilky tea infused with a mix of spicesLassiMocktails
Their brunch begins with tea, serving you the Mumbai style. It was a masala tea and it’s made the classic way which will remind you of the tea you typically get in Indian streets. Lassi can come sweet, mango or sour and they couldn’t go wrong with this traditional drink. The classic Indian Mocktails which had ingredients such as saffron was just OK to me in taste, don’t have the bells and whistles of the Mocktails that we find in Dubai.
BREAKFAST
Muesli, yoghurt and fruits all combined together and topped with natural honey.
First part of the brunch is breakfast. We start of with their one and only English item on the breakfast menu which is a cold Muesli made with yoghurt and fruits. It was very good and we all loved it. I was enjoying it more like a dessert.
Aloo Paratha – Spiced potato stuffed Indian bread cooked on flat griddle with generous amount of clarified butterIndian flat bread stuffed with egg mix and topped with Parsi Kheema mix topped with Crispy potato.Bombay Omelette – Masala omelette accompanied with tomato relish, spiced potato and buttered paoMoombai & Co. Egg – naan with warm lentil salad, avocado sour, baked with eggs, served with sweet and sour tomato chutneyKanda Poha
After which the remaining came from a North Indian menu. The butter on the Aloo Paratha would just hit your nose hard and couldn’t resist just going after it immediately. Also note the butter used here is the famous Indian Amul butter. The Indian flat bread stuffed with egg mix topped with Parsi Kheema was a little different. Moombai & Co egg had a modern touch to it and you can easily fall in love with this breakfast.
BOMBAY BARBEQUE
Bombay Barbeque – Paneer Achari Tikka(Cottage cheese cubes marinated with pickle spices), Lasooni Macchi(Fish cubes with roasted garlic marinade and the golden spice turmeric), Parda Seekh Kebab(Minced lamb skewers covered with chopped peppers, onion and coriander)Bombay Barbeque – Paneer Achari Tikka(Cottage cheese cubes marinated with pickle spices), Lasooni Macchi(Fish cubes with roasted garlic marinade and the golden spice turmeric), Parda Seekh Kebab(Minced lamb skewers covered with chopped peppers, onion and coriander)
Then came the bang. Three different ranges of BBQ which was cheese, fish and meat in a varied marination that gave it a different color and tasted very different from each other. The Lasooni Macchi was a clear winner from the lot.
MAINS
Mains – MOOMBAI & CO BRUNCHVegetable Biryani with ApricotsZaffran Gosht BiryaniMoombai & Co. Black Dal – Black lentils cooked with tomato, cream and butter and left to simmer on slow fire for hours.
Their mains composed of chicken, lamb and veg. There are two kinds of biriyani(veg and lamb). The veg biriyani was different, something that you’ll enjoy to try. I always enjoy a black lentil curry and this one was good. The roti basket had all the favourites in there but after such a heavy start, you probably are going eat less of these.
CHAATS
Chef Special ChaatChef Special Chaat
Chaats were very pretty and creative but to be honest that didn’t live up to their good looks. I thought they could have been better. This is a category which I thought they could improve. Presentation of the chaat is definitely a five star but from taste perspective it was quite on the weaker side.
DESSERTS
Kulfi Platter – Creamy reduced milk kulfi in different seasonal flavours with chilled fruits to company.Kulfi in handCaramel CustardICE GolaICE Gola
The ending was grand as well, thanks to the kulfi platter. Different flavours of kulfi that you are going to enjoy along with some cold exotic fruits. The surprise was the so called ICE gola. I’ve never had this before anywhere in Dubai and this definitely was a magic to me. We were in complete love with this flavoured shaved ice that came with spice on top to thrill your taste buds.
