Eshak is the newly opened restaurant at City Walk 2 where you find a menu from Uzbek, Caucasian, Armenian, Georgian, European and Middle Eastern tastes. There is a slight touch of fusion but ensures they stick to their authentic roots. Everything we tried here has been different. It’s a restaurant worth a visit especially if you haven’t yet tried Uzbek dishes.
The interior is grand. We loved everything about the interior especially their beautiful chandeliers and their comfortable seating. They aren’t regular chairs but wide sofas for everyone eating at their restaurant. We realized the one disadvantage of using such a seating is that the table gets higher than your seat, so eventually it gets less convenient as you progress with eating.
Both the mocktails and the milkshake were pretty good. I loved the milk shake because it was rich and thick, just the way a milkshake should be. The Mocktail was also well made too and had a nice flair to it. The hummus was nice and authentic but the Muhammara could be better. The egg plant roll filled with tomato, cream cheese and pesto was unique and was a nice munch. The soup came super hot, we actually had to wait for some time for it cool down. The traditional soup was really good especially the meats in it and had a nice flavour in taste. I think this one soup can fill you up by itself.
Some of the other starters we tried at Eshak have been interesting. We just loved their cheese kutabs. I think you order any cheese item at Eshak you should be happy. The salmon Mantas was pretty good but would have been better if they provided those classic dim sum sauces along with it. Their Samosa was really crispy and would literally flake as you bite it.
Our mains were really good at Eshak. We loved the grills here. From the mixed grill platter, the chicken in it was a bit too salty otherwise we were impressed with the quality of meat and it’s taste. The lamb meat in the mixed grill was my favourite and felt it was grilled to perfection. Arayes Kafta was yummy and kids loved them. The chilli paste in the Arayes Kafta was in right proportion and wasn’t really that spicy that kids couldn’t eat it. Let’s not forget our other main which were king sized succulent lamb pieces that came with mash potatoes. Tender and juicy lamb pieces to be more appropriate and it wasn’t dry as it had a nice layer of tantalizing gravy on it.
Their desserts are unique but not enticing. The Napolean was a nice creamy dessert. What I didn’t like was the puff pastry in it. I thought the puff pastry could be made better, it felt too dry when I am compare them with other Napolean dessert available in Dubai. Their baklava is a unique piece and maybe we should try that one next time. Click here to visit their official website. Click pictures below to see them in full screen view:
