If there is one buffet where you can see the food for your money, it’s got to be here. Kaftan in Jumeirah offers Ramadan diners an over whelming stretch of Turkish cuisine. I haven’t really counted but they claim to offer around 200 dishes. If you’ve been to Kaftan prior, you know what to expect. They never disappoint and their Iftar buffet would be the best way to capitalise on your hunger for their mouth watering dishes. We specifically enjoy their meats, cheese, desserts and it’s not surprising that the restaurant is full even though it has an Iftar tag of AED 190.
Kaftan in Jumeirah located opposite to Wild Wadi and Burj Al Arab has this extra ordinary tent where you are transported to a world of nature. I would literally call it heaven. The ambience set up by Kaftan for their Iftar has been wonderful. A see through tent where we could see the outside as well, we also enjoyed the beautiful lighting seen at the Burj Al Arab though out our evening for Iftar at Kaftan. Kaftan restaurant also had a prayer hall arranged for their diners, which was really useful for muslims to pray nearby. The service has been impeccable. Food was quick to refill and waiters were plenty in action as we needed them. Dates and dry fruits could be found ready on every table for Iftar. They also serve special Arabic drink during the breaking of fast. It’s interesting how they have managed to keep all the flies away from this open buffet.
There was a dedicated bread station where you could all find all the favourite Turkish breads you wanted. Salads were plenty. You could find all the famous cold and hot starters from their menu. They had too many variety but unfortunately none were labelled. No matter which we tried, it was authentic and very much with the Turkish roots. They also had two different soups which you could pick up from their soup station. You need to really plan your Iftar here cause it’s simply impossible to eat all of them. I made sure to try some of their signature starters such as stuffed leaves, stuffed vegetables, well marinated meats.
Inspire a buffet their meats have been mouth watering. Their beef cuts, lamb shoulder, mix meat sausages, kebabs is all juicy and irresistible. Kids very well enjoyed the Turkish pita breads with meat on top. The Turkish famous Begendi kebab was also available for their buffet. So many varieties of kebab here that you really wished you knew the names for all of them. This buffet is surely going to satisfy any meat lover.
Dessert would be my favorite section from the Iftar buffet. I love Turkish desserts and this is a dream buffet for baklava fans. Imagine getting to eat unlimited authentic Turkish Baklavas as much as you could and it wasn’t just one type but different kinds of Baklavas. Inspire of the quantity, these baklavas are so fresh and will allure you with their sweetness. The second most alluring from their dessert section would be desserts made from chocolate. They just tasted different and pleasingly rich in taste. Even the Turkish Halva was available, which was always hot and tantalizing as ever. Milk cakes were available too. Besides these, they had so many other Turkish desserts which were really good and this is why I say you need to really plan your Iftar at Kaftan. So much good around you but so little space in you. All the best if you plan to visit Kaftan soon for Iftar. It’s worth every penny.
