Every Monday it’s Maki Madness at Tanuki. All Maki plates are priced at just AED 25, around 50% discounted from their original pricing. The Maki roll is a well balanced diet of meat, rice, seafood, fruits, vegetables, and spices. The Asian food is at it’s best form in Tanuki with an alluring presentation of Asian food with a vast range of flavors available from their menu.
If you really thirsty then their Mocktails would be a good choice filled with lots of ice and a glamorous looking drink. I preferred the fruity berry twist which was a thick cold fruit juice and the twist got better as time progressed unlike the mocktail where it got worse as the water begins to dominate the real taste of the drink. The Ice tea is a natural one which you find at Tanuki and is a must try if you love Iced tea in general.
Kids Bento Box is a good deal considering it includes everything from starters to dessert including a choice of drink. It’s a very exciting Bento Box and they make it as attractive as possible for the kids by having it colorful and presented elegantly in multiple sections of the Box . Food tastes great and they have some interesting selection for the kids.

Every Monday all their Maki rolls are priced flat AED 25 per plate. So it’s a good deal considering that it’s almost 50% off the original price. So we naturally tried as many Maki Rolls as possible from their menu. Each Maki plate tasted different and unique from the other. The Spicy Maguro really kept up to it’s name by adding a zest of spicy sauce on top of the rolls which was the best part about it. You could feel the spice, yet you were able to enjoy and eat them. The shrimps and unagi sauce makes a big deal out of the Arigato Maki roll. One of my favorites was the Mango Ebi, it was the crispy fried shrimp with a touch of mango that was the magic on this plate. The only hot Maki roll we tried was the California hot, It was warm and luscious as ever. The star attraction would be the Osiduzi for it’s presentation and how the salmon and avocado would sit on top. There is zero spice on this one, probably more sweet.
For desserts, Mochi is not to be missed. The Green tea is my favorite Mochi ice cream and it’s all homemade too. If you love dark chocolate, then the dark chocolate steamed buns is the one! but I wished they served an ice cream along with their hot steamed buns as it would have been a great combination with its hot buns and dark chocolate. Finally we ended our meal with a fine cup of green tea which was a perfect ending to our dinner.
