Kobeya is the newly opened Japanese cafe serving healthy options such as gluten free dishes with a variety of vegan, non vegetarian and lactose free options. Japanese and Far Eastern cuisine is the central focus in this restaurant. Some of the ingredients are outsourced directly from Far Eastern countries and the same can be told when you taste them. They also have a mini store in their cafe where you can buy their traditional ingredients and other products which you don’t often find else where in Dubai. For meat lovers, the Kobe Beef is a must try here and not to be missed!
They’ve got plenty of drinks in their menu. I enjoyed my Saffron lemonade but for some reason they insist on trying their YUZU mint juice which felt like any mint lemon juice. What I would highly recommend to try would be the hot drinks on their menu and their Vietnamese coffee which I felt was unique and an interesting one.
The salads are pretty and they taste great as well. We tried their Japanese Pumpkin & Fig Salad which came with plenty of leaves in it. The Vietnamese spring roll is a classic here and the sweet chili mint sauce adds a great dash to the spring roll.
The mains were the best part. I can’t forget how delicious was The Kobeya Burger. It was all about the beef patty in it which was extremely tender and juicy. The bun used for the burger was also commendable. Kobe Sukiyaki Don is a good choice if you enjoying eating rice. They is plenty of rice under the vegetables, beef and egg. Once again it was the beef that was the most exciting in it.
The cheese cake seems to be their no.1 seller as almost all tables had one of these. The cheese cake was heavy and perfect for those who enjoy less sweetness in their dessert. To me the real dessert was their Shaved ice dessert called the Arabian Kaki Gori. It was a sheet delight of nuts, dates syrup and cold ice cream. It’s lot of ice that you’ll be eating but you would cherish every spoon of it. The Arabian Kaki Gori is a must try dessert. We then ended our lunch at Kobeya Kitchen with an outstanding coffee. We actually had to wait for Vietnamese coffee to drip completely into the cup which took a while. Unfortunately by this time the coffee is actually no more hot.
