The Poolside brunch at the Address sky view is one of those spectacular brunches that you don’t want to miss. This Friday we could confidently say, we had fun in the sun. A fun filled brunch experience eating at poolside with open views of Downtown Dubai skyscrapers such as the Burj Khalifa at a distance. Free flowing Sharing plates from hot starters, cold starters, crispy platter, mains which comes in a bento box and a dream come true dessert platter. The five star hotel definitely guarantees a five star experience with their exceptional menu, service and hospitality. The Poolside brunch club starts at a price of AED 295 with soft drinks which has access to their pool as well. You could have the entire the brunch at the pool. They really pamper you well.
Firstly the hotel itself is grand, no matter where you stand or sit you will love it. They transport you to a little world of luxury of its own. Across the reception, you find the wide stretched pool with amazing view of the Burj Khalifa. For the brunch, you could either have your seat at the poolside in open air and take a dip while you eat or you could enjoy their brunch inside the air conditioned restaurant which was much cooler for us in this weather. They also provide cooling vents for outdoor seating which was very much needed in the sunny warm afternoon, but it made more sense to be eating outside if you were in your beach wear or taking advantage of the pool.
They make wonderful mocktails here which comes in beautiful colors and taste. The best part they just continue to bring us different ones as we finished them. It begins with their bread basket and butter. I really didn’t want to eat much bread, to make more space for the brunch menu, but to be honest the breads were fresh and addictive. One thing we need to appreciate is the quality of service. You would find your cutlery set packed in a sealed cover for hygiene reason. Opening these fresh packets to find your metal cutlery is a unique experience of its own. The chopsticks are worth a mention for it’s quality design and golden metal tips which made it very elegant.
COLD STARTERS
- California, vegetable maki roll with condiments
- Mixed cold seafood platter Prawn, Octopus, Scallop, mussels, Lemon, cocktail dip
- Mexican Nachos Tomato salsa, Guacamole, sour cream, cheese, olives
- Thai beef salad Cucumber, onion, coriander Hoisin Dressing
- Fresh Oysters Vinegar, Onion, Lemon, Tabasco
- For the poolside brunch club, every set comes in a box. It began with the cold starter box. Those Californian maki rolls were my favourite from the cold starters and that one item which I planned to ask for more. The Oysters was the next big deal from the cold starters, it came with a cute tabasco sauce and was an elegant spread on a bowl. We tried everything from the cold seafood platter except for the octopus, and they tasted fresh as expected. The only area they could improve would be the Mexican Nachos which tasted ordinary, I mean we’ve eaten much more fancier Nachos and surely there is scope for improvement with this simple item.
HOT STARTERS
- Vietnamese vegetable spring roll
- Prawn tempura
- Fried spring roll KFC- Korean Fried Chicken with dips
- Soya glazed Taiwanese beef Short rib Bao buns
Everything except for the Vietnamese spring roll came warm in the box. The way, they unveiled the starters in the wooden box was quite interesting. All the items were designed to dip and eat so there were plenty of sauces accompanied with these tantalizing starters. The Korean fried chicken tasted different and this would be my favourite pick. The beef in the bao buns was really nice but the bao bun by itself would easily fill you up, we felt the bao buns could have been softer. The fried spring rolls and prawns were just perfect and you just couldn’t resist them.
MAINS
- Classic American Slider Mini Bun, wagyu beef patty | BBQ sauce, sweet potato fries
- Quesadilla
- Shish Taouk Skewers, Chicken yakitori
- Grilled Sweet corn with butter, herbs
- Chipotle Prawn garlic, olive oil, onion
They had good selection of mains. The American wagyu slider was straight forward and we loved the beef patty very much. The Quesadilla felt different, crispy and yummy. The chicken on the skewers were succulent and juicy. The grilled prawns were mighty and delicious. This would be the second item I was ready to ask for more. By the time we had our mains we were already full to be honest, but after seeing the dessert platter, all we could do was just jump right into it.
Desserts
- Vanilla Brownie Magnum, Roasted Almond
- Frozen Pistachio Macaroon, Pistachio praline
- Frozen Apricot pavlova, Lavendra Scent
- Coconut ice cream, fresh mango
- Fresh Raspberry Tart
- Chocolate Fondant, Barley Foam
The desserts were overwhelming. Infact, the desserts felt more heavier than their mains. These desserts were premium for sure and the best part all made in house. Surely the pastry chef isn’t ordinary at his skills. The chocolate fans have lot to cherish with their signature chocolate fondant which comes in a separate plate and also their homemade magnum ice cream which is coated by milk chocolate, while the chocolate fondant was more on the darker side which I thoroughly enjoyed. Other fancy items would be their macaroons, tarts and the presentation of these desserts such as the coconut ice cream was pretty cool which deserves a 5/5. So make sure you don’t overeat the starters and mains because desserts here seems equally attractive and is something you don’t want to miss. Click here to visit their official website.
