T-Roc would be Volkwagen’s first compact SUV. More like a cross over that combines an SUV and a hatchback model. The model is placed just below the Tiguan. T-Roc has been surprisingly impressive for the price. Interestingly even at this price point, it delivers all that you need. It’s stylish, spacious even though compact, love how it would easily fit into tight spaces, with a lighter engine you save plenty on petrol too. Even though just 1.4 TSI engine, the turbo charged engine does a good job to deliver 150 hp, so it’s not as bad as you see on paper. The little SUV is all big in digital display which includes a large active info display available behind the steering wheel as well as a touch screen infotainment system in the center integrated with apple car play. It’s got all those modern features that you need today in a vehicle including wireless charging.

T-Roc is available in 3 options – Trend, Sport and Style. This one is a sport model. Ambient lighting is just white for this sport model. The exterior LED lights give the T-Roc a better look, especially the rear LED lights. The lights also have LED flashing functionalities when changing lanes. Halogen headlights come as standard. There wasn’t any sunroof on this one, but does have roof rails and a sporty sticker on the sides. The high gloss Black style package makes it a big deal by adding high gloss black finish in certain areas on the inside as well as outside, giving a boost to it’s looks.
T-ROC Trend – AED 75,462
T-ROC Style – AED 84,129
T-ROC Sport – AED 90,507
The steering wheel that comes with T-ROC sport was just a pleasure to hold and use. It was a good size and felt premium with it’s bottom cut and quality leather. All the audio controls can be found in the left of the steering wheel. You also have nice sport pedals with a metal finishing. Wireless charging is standard, and the rubber surface holds the mobile phone in place. You would also find 2 USB-C ports in the front and another 2 USB-C ports in the rear for the rear passengers to make use. In the center you also have two space cut out for cup holders. The arm rest is wrapped in fabric which makes it comfortable.
There is an 8 inch color touch screen available in the center. Integrated with apple car play. Although they have tried to get rid of buttons, they do have some dedicated buttons for volume control, radio power, AC controls, emergency indicator, parking sensors which is good to have when you need them quickly. For safety, expect features such as park assist(will park for you), rear view camera, blind spot sensor and park distance control.
The driver is going to love the instrument cluster on this one which is a high resolution color display. You can have information in 3 different panes of the screen. It was quite surprising to see such a detailed digital display for an affordable priced vehicle. For the first time I got to experience BEATS branded speaker system in an automobile, but I would say it didn’t impress as much as they impressed us with their earphones.
Love the boot lid that would open and close electronically with a touch of a button. One unique feature about the trunk space was that you could make adjustment to the depth of the trunk space by allowing you to lower the base as shown in the pictures. Operating the trunk is pretty easy, thanks to the electronic switch for opening and closing the trunk lid. All that said, the seats were all manual including the driver seat. Funny they had all the modern functionalities in the car but kept the car seat adjustments manual. Click here to visit the official website. Click picture below to see them in full screen view:
