The restaurant boasts an elegant interior featuring dark wood accents, wooden flooring, crimson leather seats, and mosaic tiles. Striking Japanese artwork adds a contemporary touch, creating a chic yet relaxed atmosphere. The outdoor terrace offers serene views of the Madinat waterways, providing the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal.




The Mocktails offered a refreshing and flavorful accompaniment to their exquisite Japanese cuisine to come. The Yuzu Green Salad at Sushiyaki is the perfect way to kick off your dining experience. These were the regular greens but what makes the Yuzu Green Salad stand out is the Yuzu dressing, a unique tangy-sweet kick which perfectly complements the earthy greens. Offering a burst of flavor, making it a great choice for those looking for a healthy yet indulgent start to their meal.



The Prawn Tempura at Sushiyaki is an absolute must try. It’s the perfect balance of crispy, crunchy, tender, all wrapped up in one delicious dish. Sushiyaki’s tempura is remarkably light and never felt oily. Each piece retains a delicate crispness that feels almost weightless on the tongue. Biting into them is like sinking into a perfectly cooked piece of seafood, where the subtle sweetness of the prawn contrasts beautifully with the crispy outer layer. At Sushiyaki, the dipping sauce is nothing short of exceptional.
The TACO has a crispy shell which gives a satisfying crunch. The texture is light, making it the perfect vehicle to carry the rich and flavorful fillings. The taco’s filling is a delightful medley of salmon and tuna, both of which are impeccably fresh. The avocado that’s layered into the mix adds a creamy cooling contrast to the fish. Every bite is a wonderful contrast between creamy, crunchy, spicy, and savory. Perfect for those who enjoy bold flavors and creative twists on classic dishes.
The clean, minimalist presentation of the Chicken Sando is beautifully presented. The light char from the charcoal bread adds a subtle smokiness that complements the overall flavor profile of the sandwich. The sandwich is neatly cut into halves, making it easy to share. The yellow chilli sauce adds complexity, with subtle fiery edge that brighten the overall taste of the sandwich.



Maki rolls at Sushiyaki is bold, playful and memorable. Maki rolls are indulgence wrapped in rice. Each piece arrives meticulously plated, almost like a miniature sculpture with vibrant colors, varied textures. This roll is a true collision of contrasts and unexpectedly delightful . The beef was lovely, balanced with the smoky crunch of bean sprouts and a whisper of chili heat that built slowly. It was luxury disguised as comfort food. The salmon Prawn offered a completely different profile clean, delicate, silky salmon that forms the base. Creamy on the inside and is instantly satisfying. It’s velvety, rich, and subtly sweet, adding a luxurious layer of flavor that marries perfectly with the freshness of the salmon and the lightness of the prawns. The artistry in how the ingredients are balanced makes this roll an experience.


Yakitori grills felt like a carefully crafted chapter in a smoky, umami-rich narrative that moved through spice, sweetness, and citrusy brightness. Each Yakitori grills were flavor packed grenades. It was spicy, savory, and finger-licking addictive. The salmon, glazed with misoyaki sauce, was rich and buttery, light, luxurious, and utterly balanced. The black cod was so tender that it barely clung to the skewer, infused with a velvety shiro miso sweetness that bordered on dessert-like richness. Each skewer is a mini-masterpiece, perfectly paced and plated.


When the Chocolate Volcano arrives at the table, it immediately demands attention. The chocolate cake itself is dark, dense. Intense, velvety chocolate that coats the palate without being overly sweet. The top quality vanilla ice cream brings that creamy coolness that every molten dessert needs. At SushiYaki, the cheesecake is deconstructed and reimagined with a refined touch. The core is a smooth vanilla cheesecake which is rich, creamy. The ice cream on it was unique which delivers a salty-sour edge that balances the cheesecake’s sweetness beautifully. The sponge ties the dish together, adding texture and a savory base. Every element is there for a reason. Together, they create a contrast of flavors that reflect both Japanese elegance and modern innovation.

We couldn’t ask for a better ending to our lunch at Sushiyaki. Thanks to the fabulous tea that was offered at the end. It’s nick named the ‘popcorn tea’ which had a nutty, roasted flavour and aroma coming out of it. Its unique blend offers a comforting and soothing experience.
