Orilla the restaurant
Stepping into Orilla feels like entering a modern Mediterranean world of its own. The decor is elegant with earthy tones that echo coastal towns. Dishes are brought to the table for the brunch, encouraging a more social and sharing concept. Being on the top floor, the restaurant offers uninterrupted views of Dubai’s striking skyline. They also have a dedicated space for smoking, be it shisha or cigar. You have a DJ playing you LIVE music during the saturday brunch.

Starters
We kicked things off with a round of starters that perfectly set the tone for the brunch. Each plate was vibrant and artfully plated, there was a clever play of textures and seasoning. It was a well paced culinary experience. I have to admit they made the best breads here. Breads never tasted so good. Kudos to the chef on that one. The beef carpaccio was light and elegant, with just the right balance of richness and freshness. The salmon roll followed, silky and delicate, adding a clean refined bite to the table. The yaki tori chicken was juicy, lightly charred and full of smoky flavour. To finish, the feta cheese with honey pizza was an unexpected favourite: crisp, sweet in all the right places. The real star would be the Paella and Mussels combo which was deeply satisfying, fresh plum mussels covered by aromatic Paella.

Mains
The Wagyu beef cheek arrived looking unapologetically indulgent. Slow cooked to that fall apart tenderness, the meat was rich, deeply flavorful and almost spoon-soft. The toasted orzo underneath soaking up all that glorious gravy without turning soggy. Then there was the luxurious truffle butter that was creamy and cheesy. The pasta is definitely more filling than the other main.

Desserts
The Mille-feuille was a thick and delicate layers of crisp, buttery pastry which shattered beautifully with every bite, giving way to a silky mascarpone cream cheese that felt light yet indulgent. The vanilla milk cream was the best part which added a gentle warmth and softness, tying everything together without drowning the pastry. Infact, I asked more of that vanilla milk cream. The stuffed donuts was pillowy which came in 2 kinds of filling. One was tangy with passion fruit cream and the other one was filled with dulce de leche. Simply soft and indulgent. The dark chocolate mousse was the dramatic finale. Made with 70% dark chocolate, it struck that ideal balance between bitterness and richness with pistachio ganache underneath.
