This is one of those restaurants which starts with desserts. Mado’s history begins with Ice creams hence you have the first page of the menu starting with ice creams just as their story in Turkey. The first time I actually experienced Mado was during Ramadan at Dubai Mall after which I was completely in love with Mado. Their food is quite addictive. For me their highlight has always been their breads, baklawas, ice creams and their meats. Off late I’ve been craving for their breakfast platter as well. Don’t be surprised if you see it published anytime soon.
Mado is well spread across United Arab Emirates. Infact they are already available in 4 out of the 7 emirates in UAE. Diners at the Jumeirah branch have complimentary valet parking. Mado in Jumeirah has got a bakery cum restaurant setup. As soon as you enter you’ve got the ice cream stall on one side and the bakery on the left where you find a stretch of freshly made baklawas, breads and other pastries. The interiors make you feel at home.
They have a cozy kids play area good enough to keep the kids entertained for a while while we have some peace on the dining table.
I highly recommend to go for their smoothies when it comes to drinks. They are made from their own fresh ice creams and hence can only be a delight. The Ayran was really good today. This is one of the Turkish classics and you can’t ask for a better yoghurt drink than this one.
This is one of the best parts for me at Mado. We just look forward to their fantastic selection of breads. It’s just enchanting. Each bread comes with different stuffing and flavour, soft and never tasted so fresh. They also come with 3 different kinds of dippers.
The honeycomb with Turkish cream has been my favourite choice for a breakfast and I just couldn’t stop resisting myself from ordering this during our lunch. The clotted cream with a pure honeycomb is one of the finest experience eating and is usually only found on a Turkish menu. The hot mezze platter is a new one introduced by Mado, but the hot appetizers found in this platter is no different than those you find in any other Arabic restaurant.
The content inside the Turkish burger is mouthwatering. The special sauces used with the patty makes it a delicious affair. The buns felt ordinary, I wish they used home made buns instead. That would have been then a perfect Turkish burger.
Then came the traditional mains of Turkey. Surely Hunkar Begendi stole the show. The Celtic kebab is not bad either but just that it feels a bit dry if I compare it with Hunkar Begendi. I actually didn’t enjoy the shredded crispy fries that came with the Celtic Kebabs. Coban Kavurma can come with chicken or meat and we went chicken. The problem after having tenderloin mean, it’s difficult for you to appreciate chicken as much. Nevertheless it had it’s Turkish flavour and the vermicelli rice was feeling nice in the tummy.
Dessert is what I can’t resist at MADO and there is no way we can ignore their baklawas and ice creams. You find the best baklawas only at a Turkish restaurant and Mado truly gives you that experience. The Ice cream along with it makes eating them even more fabulous. They kaymak Burma Kadaif was freshly made for us when we ordered, it comes with different filling and highly recommend to try the Pistachio filling(Pistachio Burma Kadaif).
And so we ended our wonderful lunch with Turkish coffee and Tea. Turkish Coffee here was one of my favourite, it was just the right strength that you could appreciate and enjoy. Click here to visit their official website. Click below to see them in full screen view:
