Allo Beirut is one of the few restaurants who’ve been doing really well recently and have a great fan base following. Hence it was a natural response for us to accept the offer to try the Iftar at Allo Beirut. It’s been a healthy one, that’s the one word that comes into my mind when I think about our Iftar at Allo Beirut. The menu is typical Lebanese and this is the restaurant you need to visit if you love Lebanese food. The Iftar menu is limited to a customized menu though, unfortunately they don’t have their signature items on their Iftar menu such as the shawarmas, manakish, or even their famous desserts.

You can have yourself seated inside, outside or even upstairs the restaurant. A colorful restaurant which takes you back to Lebanon with its beautiful interiors. Iftar starts with dates and Arabic coffee. I love how they serve fresh hot coffee for all of us in those little arabic gahwa cup but they never come back asking if we needed more which would have been a nice hospitality, but you can’t blame them as the restaurant is really busy in the evenings. It’s almost full at the time of Iftar and the servers are busy running around to keep up to the incoming orders from each table. The good part is whatever you order, comes like a flash onto your table. There hasn’t been any delay from our experience.

Jallab and Qamareddine
Moutabal
Vine Leaves
Makanek and Chicken Liver
Fattoush, Hinbeh, Spicy Potato
Hummus & Moutabal
Sambousik(Cheese, spinach, meat)

For drinks both Jallab and qamareddine has been pretty good, except it wasn’t cold enough. Then quickly we got a plethora of starters coming to our table which is Lentil Soup, Sambousik Fattouch, Hummus, Moutabal, Makanek, Chicken Liver, Hinbeh, Vine Leaves, Spicy Potato. These are typical Lebanese cold starters but we ate a new item which never tried from a Lebanese joint which was the hinbeh, an extremely healthy dish that felt great in the stomach. They make the food really well here and some of the snacks such as the spicy potatoes or sujuk is something that we often try to avoid but they made it so well that we actually finished them. The cold starters has been absolutely satisfying, the moutabal was also one of the best we’ve had.

Mains for Iftar
Stuffed lamb (Slow cooked lamb with oriental spiced rice & nuts; served yogur)
White Beans Stew with Meat
Mloukhieh Chicken
Rice

For Iftar they have mains changing every day, we got to try authentic Lebanese traditional mains which was really nice, especially the meats in them, I still remember the meats in the white beans which was super tender and a joy to eat. The stuffed lamb reminded us of the ouzi. The Mloukhieh Chicken felt like a cooked chicken in a soup, it had a lovely tangy taste to it and you find big chunky pieces of chicken floating in the broth but there’s plenty of green leaves in it which gives it a strong flavor.

butter biscuits and mammoul
qatayef ashta
Green Tea and Turkish Coffee

The meal ended with biscuits and qatayef. This was actually the low from their Iftar menu. Even though they had many signature desserts such as the kunafa, puddings and variety of ice creams, we only got qatayef mainly as a dessert for Iftar. The butter biscuits went well with hot coffee and Tea which are provided as compliments as part of their Iftar menu. I just wished they offered us a better selection of desserts to end the Iftar on a high note. Click here to visit their official website. Click pictures below to see them in full screen view:
