Ever heard of FitRepubliK? Never did I, until I visited Dubai sports City for a breakfast at Nathalie’s cafe which is a gem of a cafe that serves healthy, nutritious and energetic items. Nathalie’s coffee and Kitchen cafe found inside this state of the art facility naturally serves the needs and tastes of those athletic individuals coming out of FitRepublik(Dubai’s largest fitness center). Fortunately, their menu is not just about healthy living but you also enjoy eating their menu as it is even tailored for casual diners. They say 90% of their items are made in house and they try to be natural and wholesome as much as possible by making them fresh daily and avoiding any form of preservatives.
One side you have the main entrance to Nathalie’s cafe and the other side of the cafe is connected to the gym where you can see people working out. There is a direct entry into the cafe from the gym if anyone wants to grab some quick power bites. There were also people who came as a couple or group of friends and would enjoy a slow relaxing breakfast in this beautiful airy cafe, while some would be heading to their office after a nice workout and meal. The cafe had a great height. Natural sunlight would pour in from their long glass walls. Their white painted walls had interesting artworks on it. They had different types of seating arrangements for your comfort and even books if you didn’t have any company ๐
They serve excellent coffee. The coffee taste was pure and original. The one drink that caught my attention for it’s name was the “Monkey Business“. It was a thick shake. Infact somewhere it felt like a sundae while I was chewing those granola which was found soaked deep inside the thick shake. I was simply in love with this one. Highly recommend to try monkey business if you are here. Also you have a choice between 3 different types proteins to add: more fat / less sugar & more carb / a balance between both. The Beet it juice was more for a health conscious person. It’s definitely not the kind of drink I would enjoy. I only wished their drinks came in glass instead of plastic ๐
The Egg whites filled with mushroom and spinach is my pick of the day from all that I’ve tried today from their breakfast menu. It was quite heavy and filling as well. The best part in it was the side which was potato and leek rostis where you just wished you got more of it. Berry mix was straight forward and it was simple and healthy. You mix the berries with granola, low fat yoghurt and honey and you can’t feel better than eating this one for breakfast. Nathalie’s whole wheat pancake was beautiful, but I didn’t find natural blueberries like I thought rather it was blueberry compete in between the whole wheat pancakes. I wouldn’t say this is the best pan cake I’ve had but my little one was quite happy to finish most of it. I prefer to see my pancakes a little thicker and spongy.
They’ve got interesting desserts for the sweet tooths like the chia raspberry sandwich or the chocolate Halewah tart which is not often seen otherwise. The chocolate Halewah tart was irresistible to me. It was a fusion between English and Arabic. I loved the peanut butter stuffed between the chia walls but what was bothering me was the raspberry that was a little sour to be sweet. They do have other heavy duty cakes like the cheese cake/carrot/chocolate etc but these come in freshly baked to the cafe early afternoon so if you are here for breakfast you might not get to see them.
On our way out you find these take away organic drinks. You can also buy their signature snacks in a jar like Zaater crisps, superfood trail of dryfruits and chocolate, Cinnamon palmier etc which is nice to keep in your office or home for that time when you want to munch on something.
