I don’t play Golf but I ended up at a Golf Club for Iftar. The Amasi Lounge located in the center of the Emirates Golf Club is open for Iftar at 07:00pm until suhoor upto 3am. You can find middle eastern as well as international cuisines. Iftar buffet is from 07:00 to 09:00pm for AED 165 inclusive of food and selected soft beverages.
For drinks they had the traditional ramadan drinks. The Jallab was the best out of the lot. The hot Arabic Mezze consisted of the typical fatayers stuffed with cheese, spinach, meat. Just love the fatayers and fortunately most restaurants get this one right.
The Arabic cold mezzeh was the best part for me at the Amasi lounge Iftar. There was a big selection of a variety of cold salads and appetizers. Most people were quite satisfied with this section alone. A healthy and hearty start. The Arabic cold Mezzeh would be one of the reasons why I would want to come back to Amasi Lounge for Iftar.
The mains were not limited to Arabic dishes but you would also find other International dishes such as Indian, Spanish and Italian. Indians would be happy as it was the next leading cuisine in the buffet counter after Arabic. You also had different types of rotis and rice to enjoy the different curries you find around the buffet counter.
The Lamb Ouzi was the center attraction at the buffet counter for the mains. They also cut you fresh grilled hammour fish. Seafood lovers would be happy to find other shallow fried fishes at the Amasi Iftar buffet. Grilled skewers were limited to sheesh taouk, Lamb kofta and kebabs.
For desserts you would find both International and Arabic desserts. The International desserts were much better than the Arabic Desserts. Unfortunately the Arabic desserts lacked the freshness and quality that you normally would expect from an Iftar that serves traditional Arabic Iftar buffet.
