Here’s a new store dedicated to all the sugaholics. Sukkar which means sugar in Arabic is dedicated to bombard you with lots of sugar like never before. The desserts here are a fusion between Middle eastern and Western dessert. You can have a slice of sugar and even order a full size cake for a take away.
Sukkar is an extension of the famous Logma restaurant(located next to it) and together they seem to be a glamorous couple doing well at the BOX PARK. Most likely you will be sitting outside as there isn’t much space inside Sukkar.
My favourite from all that we tried today was the soft Saffron milk cake. The milk cake comes in different flavors such as Saffron, Rose, Pistachio, Hazelnut, Karak, Classic, Rahash and Horlicks. We tried the saffron milk cake which was soft, sweet and the caked soaked in luscious saffron milk makes it irresistible.
They have different flavours of cheese cake. The slices you see above are all different types of cheese cake. One of their most trending cheese cakes is the Kunafa rose cake, I think it’s mainly due it’s good looks. But honestly I would still prefer the classic cheese cake. When I ate the Pistachio Caramel cheese cake I couldn’t really feel the cheese in it, It’s a completely different taste and you can never compare it to the original cheese cake.
The date pecan pie is quite a good one. Plenty of pecans and the base of the pie has come out well.
Lugaimat is the traditional Emarati dessert which is my all time favourite here. It’s come hot, fluffy and you have a selection of toppings from honey, nutella, oreo, lotus, white chocolate, milk chocolate, berries and even salted caramel. I suggest start with just honey if you prefer to have it light in sweetness, and then later you can try all those fancy combinations.
Sukkar puffs is cute and perfect to gift someone. A light puff stuffed with cream inside. The thick chocolate puff cream was delicious but was not really impressed with other flavors of sugar puffs.
We tried a hot and cold drink. The berry shake as you can see was an overwhelming drink which came thick and definitely need to share the size to finish it. You sip and you know it’s mix of milk , ice cream and berries. The pistachio taste was not dominant in the latte, it was more of pistachio color than it’s taste.
