Every Friday and Saturday from 12:30pm to 04:00pm, Al Maeda by DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Dubai offers brunch with a concept of dine, dip, swim and sip. So you are not just going to enjoy at the dining table but also will have some fun at their big pool. The brunch menu is actually a set menu carefully selected by the Chef for the day and keeps varying every week. However if you need anything in particular they are more than happy to make you (from my experience). I love Lebanon cuisine and I can only be happier being at Al Maeda who makes the Arabic cuisine elegant as ever.
If you are looking for a cozy place to talk and chat for hours without any disturbance that this is the place to be. Interiors were just lovely. You could be sitting inside or outside in their balcony. Their balcony is currently covered with a transparent layer to keep the heat away with coolers placed on the side. It’s still not cool in their balcony but has the temperature more tolerable. Smoking is allowed here.
Besides the swimming pool, you could also use some of the hotel facility on the side which was the foosball and table tennis. You could see some diners eat some, swim some and come back for more and they just keep rotating the cycle until the brunch hour ends.
The restaurant was quite during the brunch hour. We didn’t find much people. The Chef was kind enough to take us the through his set menu plan and we customized some of it to our liking. Everything was freshly made. We started with their signature mocktails and I can tell you this is the only section I thought they should improve. The pretty mocktails didn’t actually have the zest that was expected from it. Considering their quality of food, I thought they should be making better tasting Mocktails.
The Fattoush salad was delicious with all it’s juicy dressing in it. The hummus with meat was simply outstanding, loved it very much. Their breads are freshly made, although they don’t come fluffy we could enjoy them and does it’s job.
The cold mezza is a must try at Al Maeda. We got to see and try one of the best looking muthabal and even the pretty pistachio hummus was an interesting one. Although the muthabal was more or less the same taste you get to experience else where, they key was the presentation. The pistachio hummus is not something you see often and that was a special one with healthy ingredients in it.
One of my 2 favorites and I would like to come back for more would be kebab fatayer as well as kebbeh istanbulieh. The balanced sweetness in the kebab fatayer with a pristine combination of yoghurt and cherry makes it an addictive dish. The kebbeh Istanbulieh was also something everyone must try at Al Maeda.
The Manakish here is just a melt in the mouth. Kids just couldn’t resist finishing it. The mixed grill was one of the best mixed grills we’ve had. The meats were succulent, fleshy and juicy. We could actually appreciate the freshness of the meat.
The chocolate mousse tart is a sheer pleasure for those chocolate lovers. The tart comes with a twist by them adding arabic halwa on top which felt an overload of sugar in the dessert. But the halwa does add glamour to the classic chocolate mousse tart. The Mango Muhabliah on the other hand was actually disappointing. If you’ve eaten a genuine muhabliya , you probably might not like this one. Click here to visit their official webpage. Click pictures below to see them in full screen view:
