Audi Singleframe grille takes an octagonal shape in the Audi Q8

The exteriors of the Audi Q8 is designed to stand out from the crowd from it’s spoiler, wheel arch trims, door trim strips, contrasting color diffuser. The expressive octagonal single frame of the Audi Q8 also gives it a larger space for air flow. The adaptive air suspension gives great comfort to the drive and helps in cornering, in fact it automatically adjusts to one’s driving style. As per the manual, the braking recovers 12kw of power which is fed back to the battery.

The distinctive design lines of the interior are highlighted with backlights and even the quattro badge on the glove compartment is illuminated in the dark. The interior is elegant with a high glass black panel stretched across the dash board and if you’ve sat in their latest sedans such as Audi A8 you would call it a familiar design. I guess Audi now plans to have the interiors uniformly matched along their range of vehicles. The center console is a 2 screen MMI touch interface where one is 10.1 inch and the bottom being 8.6 inch touch screen. Just to warn you the touch screen is a finger print magnet. The flat air vent strip is a distinctive design and clearly makes a statement. The quattro badge which is visible in the glove compartment also glows while in the dark. The leather wrapped steering wheel feels great to hold and is a progressive steering which automatically adjust the steering ratio based on the driving speed.

The interior inlays and color contrasts in the Audi Q8 is impressive. You have plenty of wood trims for selection as well as different kinds of leather with contrast stitching. The MMI touch response operating with standard haptic feedback can be accessed via two large displays, upper(10.1 inch touch display) used for controlling infotainment and navigation and lower(8.6 inch touch display) mainly for air conditioning and convenience feature such as text input. For example you could write the name on the screen instead of typing the name when searching for a location and the best part, it even recognizes cursive hand writing.

The extendable arm is convenient and if you lift the arm rest you notice the wireless charging surface for your mobile phone. It should support the standard Qi wireless charging. Audi is also selling an induction charging cover separately, incase your mobile phone does not support wireless charging. The wireless charging notification also appears on the upper display of the MMI interface.

The seats are comfortable. For the front passengers there is an 18 way adjustable front seats. Decent leg space for rear passengers as well. The rear passenger vents have a four zone climate control system which is the prettiest climate control system rear passengers can find. The rear seat backs can be folded down to create more space in the luggage compartment. The 2 glass panoramic roof gives a pretty viewing pleasure which has an electrically operated sun blinds.

The Audi virtual cockpit is a very useful companion for the driver. It’s has a beautiful 12.3″ high resolution LCD display combined with a fully digital instrument cluster, which can also be customized by the driver. For instance you can have the entire instrument panel turn into maps so you can easily navigate around your location. The quality of the screen is really good and has excellent clarity in any kind of lighting scenario. You can also buy a city assist package which introduces features such as crossing assist, cross traffic assist rear, lane change warning, exit warning etc.

Parking is never a problem with this SUV if you have the 360 view park assist feature. It works very well. It gives a top view of the car and makes parking look so easy. The latest MMI interface makes navigation a lot more easy, features such pinch and zoom make it very handy while using the maps.

A standard power tailgate with hands-free opening and closing helps cargo loading and a stainless steel threshold helps protect the sill.

There is plenty of space for your luggage. I also noticed at the luggage section there was a direct switch by which you could actually increase and decrease the height of the vehicle. This would be practically useful when you want to easily place the luggage in the vehicle without having to lift them too much. Also if you need more space in the luggage compartment you could simply fold the rear seats and there is plenty more space.
