Roti Rollers is a colorful restaurant at La Mer. Sitting outside you have the lovely open views of the sea. They have a chat trolley at the entrance where they create beautiful looking chaats. From their open kitchen you get to see the hanging grilled meat and hot rotis being made. Kids enjoyed driving the scooter in wide open space found in front of the restaurant.
We started with the pretty chaats. Usually for AED 25, you could pick any 6 type of chaats. It’s worth to get up from your seats and visit the chaat station when they make them, to see how the chaats are being creatively filled, mixed and matched with sauces. The sweet and sour water for pani puri is brought to your table and rest everything is already set for you to eat. I say the chaats were lovely here. They were as good as their pretty looks.
The drinks were interesting. Never had both kind of flavours before. Ofcourse having a sweet tooth, the salted caramel date lassi which was thick and rich was awesome! On the other hand the kulfi coffee was lighter and dominated by taste of coffee.
The signature wrap was interesting. You could choose different types of roti such as the beet root roti or the Avocado roti. Loaded with meat, vegetables, indian spices the wrap is just going thrill your taste buds. For the sides we tried the curious Indi coleslaw but didn’t find it any different actually. It tasted similar to a regular coleslaw.
The speciality of having Pav Bhaji at Roti Rollers is the bhaji. Bhaji comes with no potatoes in it and loaded with vegetables. Yet the bhaji was still delicious without it’s core ingredient which you find every where else. Roti Rollers try to keep their items unique and most importantly a healthier one. The buttered Pav Bhaji dipped in the veg fondue was a delight in the cold weather.
Loved every bit of their Thali. Specially the tandoori meats. The roti was crisp and easy to chew. It wasn’t an overloaded thali, limited yet exciting.
There is one dessert you musn’t miss at Roti Rollers. It’s their deep fried Jalebi. They make them fresh when you order. So they come crisp and hot, accompanied by an ever tempting rabdi which was a lovely ending to our lunch at Roti Rollers. The kulfi comes with three flavours in one stick which blueberry, strawberry and mango which is also a good pick.
