Brunch & Cake is a beautiful restaurant that has come out from Barcelona, located in the newly developed wasl 51. All their baked products are made in house, they look stunning, taste great but at the same time they try to keep it healthy. Their breads and cakes contain no refined sugars and made from stone ground flours. Sweeteners are usually from dates, banana or apple sauce. Also note the cupcakes, muffins, cookie dough are 100% vegan. Pure organic Acai is one of their signatures. The food here is delightful, yet they make them as healthy and natural as possible with less compromise on taste. So it’s more about eating organic, unrefined sugar etc. If you’ve been searching for the next insta worthy restaurant, then this is the one.

To begin with, they are extremely busy and to be on the safer side I highly recommend to make a booking to avoid any disappointments. The moment you enter the restaurant, you will be enticed by their home made pastries such as the cheese cakes, cupcakes and cookies. The interiors were just beautiful and felt like we were sitting in between nature. The ambience was so pleasant and cozy that friends and family wouldn’t give up their table so soon. Even their washroom is commendable and worth a mention. Such is the impression of the interior design at Brunch & Cake. We also loved the neat presentable uniforms of the host.

Drinks – Healthy Tiramisu(AED 39) and Iced Spanish Latte(AED 33)
Drinks – Healthy Tiramisu(AED 39), Iced Spanish Latte(AED 33) and Wave Breaker Smoothie(AED 39)

They had some extraordinary drinks on their menu from selections such as the superfood smoothie, healthy protein shake and specialty lattes . The ingredients and the combinations they use have been very different. Spanish latte was really good and also came with a homemade rose milk ice cream in it. The healthy Tiramisu is a punch of protein, thanks to the ingredients such as banana, dates, vanilla, raw cacao, coffee, cinnamon, homemade almond milk, almond butter. The protein shake was thick and delicious. We thought that the wave breaker smoothie could get better, was also surprised to see a smoothie come in a martini glass. I prefer a smoothie to be thick, cold, rich in taste and plenty. The color was unique about the drink but the taste was not as enticing as the other two.

Nice & Clean Salad – AED 49 – Watermelon & Goats cheese salad with quinoa, roasted pumpkin, pomegranate & Roasted hazelnuts, served in hummus bowl
Burrata Burger – AED 98 – Crumbed burrata, juicy patty, signature caramelized peppers and black truffle & mushroom cream
Waffle Buttermilk Fried chicken – AED 72 – zucchini & corn waffle, crumbed buttermilk – fried chicken with cheddar cheese, lettuce & tomatoes. comes with a side of fries
Brownie Pancake – AED 63 – Homemade nutela pancakes with chocolate sauce, choc chip cookie and grille banana

For salad, they had a local special called the neat and clean salad. We ordered this, just for the love of hummus. Although they had plenty of ingredients on top of the hummus such as Watermelon, Goats cheese, quinoa, roasted pumpkin, pomegranate, Roasted hazelnuts, the more you eat the salad you realize it’s plenty of leaves and hummus that you are eating and if you love green leaves and hummus nothing like this one. The Burrata burger was presented very fancy by having the bacon slices hanging on top. We loved the fried burrata cheese in it and along with beef patty was outstanding, the thick fries were also nice sides to the main. The highlight in the Waffle Buttermilk Fried chicken was the zuchinni and corn waffle itself. To be honest, It was the waffle that was more exciting to me, than the chicken. For dessert, we had a giant brownie pancake from their all day brunch menu which took up our sweet quota for the day. It was two king sized brownie shaped like pancakes which was pleasingly rich and you definitely need extra hands to help you finish it. I thought the rose ice cream on top of the brownie was really not required, it was better by itself. Surely the chocolate fans are going to love this one.
