For those who love to swim and eat out, will have their seating arranged next to the pool. This is the same place where the LIVE BBQ, Carving stations and Pasta station and the DJ can be found. For those who prefer to be in an air conditioned space can enjoy their afternoon in the air conditioned lounge where rest of the brunch is offered. So everybody keeps shuttling in and out, irrespective where they sit for the brunch. They do have Qix club entertainment for kids on the same floor but it comes with an additional price exclusive to the brunch.
Drinks can be ordered from the table, although I’ve noticed they do take some time to reach your table. We tried some of their signature mocktails such as the berrilicious and it was really good. If you are a big fan of freshly baked bread loafs and roles then they do have some neat collection. You would also find afternoon tea sandwiches.
The Pizza and Lasagna station is the only LIVE cooking station located in the air conditioned lounge. Kids loved choosing their own ingredients and see it made in front of their eyes. The surprise item would be the Meat Pide made at this station. It was simply terrific, the softness of the bread and the quality of the meat used was commendable. You can also place your order at any of the stations and they would bring it to your table when ready. The Lasagna served here is also worth a mention.
The cold sea food bar was another highlight where you would find all that exquisite seafood, especially the Oyster. For those who prefer to eat grilled seafood such fish or prawns can find them at the LIVE seafood station outside besides the pool. Fish for today was sea bream.
My favourite station was obviously the BBQ station where you would find two whole lamb continuously rotating under the fire. You also find other cuts such as beef tenderloin, Italian beef sausage, Marinated quill, Chicken tikka, Lamb chops, whole Lamb, BBQ beef ribs along with their respective sauces. The tandoori on these meats made them taste really good. Loved every bite of the lamb chops and they also looked sizzling hot and irresistible from a distance. The Murgh Malai Tikka was another favourite. We were also impressed with their beef steaks which was juicy and tender. For the steaks you would find the classic sauces such as the barbecue, mustard, jimmy churri and from the tandoori section you can find Indian classics such as the chutney, pickles etc. For sides dishes you can find Roasted potato, steamed vegetables, baby spinach, vegetable ratatouille.
Pasta station made really good pasta. You must definitely try some paste from here. They had all the ingredients and sides to make a good pasta. My favourite pick was the Ravioli. What’s also interesting they served in limited quantity so we just don’t waste most of it considering we have so much more to taste for the brunch.
It was mainly the English desserts for the White Friday brunch at Cabana. Plenty of full sized cakes and probably some of the most fascinating cakes. Some of the full sized cakes found would be Lemon cake, Opera Cake, Cheese Cake, Chocolate Cake, Carrot Cake. Additionaly we found other items such as Chocolate Brownies, Chocolate Cream Puff, Date Cheese Cake, Coffee Walnut Brownies, Pistachio Carolines, Peach Tart. Every cake had a contrasting filling on the inside. Like the chocolate cake when cut open had a vanilla filling as opposed to the chocolate we see from the outside which had a contrasting taste, that made the experience of eating the cake even better. I had high hopes on the chocolate tart but that somehow wasn’t matching up to my expectation, it just doesn’t give the true taste of chocolate. Somewhere the purity of the chocolate was missing in the tart. Otherwise everything else was fantastic on the dessert table. I believe the menu is constantly updated every week, so not necessary you find the same set of selection for next week.
We ended our brunch on hot drinks such as the Turkish coffee and Tea. Click here to visit the official website. Click below to see the pictures in full screen view:
