Aseelah is a fine dining restaurant that serves Middle Eastern Cuisine. They have a special buffet every night, dedicated to a particular region in the Middle East such as Lebanon, Turkey, UAE, Morocco etc. On Weekends it’s a Middle Eastern themed buffet which is a mix of all. Exquisite interiors, A whole lamb on a charcoal grill, BBQ station, a special belly dance performance in the final hour of the buffet and tantalizing desserts have been a highlight of their buffet nights. The Evening buffet is priced at AED 179 per person, inclusive of soft drinks and juices. Buffet Timing is from 7:00pm to 11:00pm every day.
Aseelah interiors define fine dining. An elegant restaurant that makes a statement with it’s stylish and sophisticated interiors. It’s a spacious restaurant where design and seating reflect the local heritage. They also have a large outdoor terrace overseeing Dubai creek which is a beautiful view by itself and can be a great spot for dining and smoking in this cold weather. Sheesha is particularly available at this restaurant. The LIVE BBQ station is also placed at their balcony. It turns out to be a great combo when you think about the hot food and cold weather.
Our buffet started with them serving us their homemade bread and special dippers. These dippers where 2 kinds of Labaneh(lemon mint & beetroot) and a chili paste. I just loved the spice on the chili paste. The labneh were also different from the classic(plain white), you can tell Aseelah has a good chef in hand. The only two hot appetizers were the kibbeh and minced meat fried fatayer. Both of them have been impressive, specially the puffy meat fatayer.
The hummus, Mouthabal and beetroot Hummus were the key attraction from the cold Mezzeh. What could have improved would be the Muhammara which was cold, sticky and wouldn’t come off the spoon. The real flavor of Muhammara was also not coming out of it. From the cold Mezzeh, you would find the typical Arabic Salads and what I loved the from here would be their fine vine leaves, which tasted great and prepared well.
They had a unique offering of Arabic Mains. There was a special rice made from egg plant called lamb Maqluba which was nice and the only rice dish for the buffet. The liver and the fish with spinach were a highlight for us from this spread. The Beans curry was also one of a kind, not often you find these dishes in an Arabic Buffet. They also had cooked shrimps here but you can also find a grilled shrimp from the BBQ station.
Truly the real highlight for anyone at their buffet nights would be their whole lamb on a charcoal grill. You also have a selection of 3 sauces to go with the grilled meat. Sauces could be sweet, tangy or spicy. From the BBQ station, you pick the skewers of your choice which consisted of chicken, beef, lamb & Prawns. The steaks that came out of the BBQ were commendable. They grill them to perfection and the meats tasted juicy and was tender in every bite. I would say the best part about the Aseelah Buffet have been their grilled meats.
The Persian sweet was the most attractive from the dessert station. There were plenty of homemade baklavas, the Kunafa was personally my favorite from the dessert and they fortunately continue to refill the kunafa tray as they get over. The second most appreciated dessert would be the Muhlabiya. Umm Ali was good as well. Overall they have a decent collection of desserts that will satisfy your sweet cravings. Hot drinks are not covered in the buffet package, so that will come at an additional charge.
The buffet spread might look small for AED 179, but the good news is you can find this buffet for less than 100 on cobone or entertainer which makes this buffet an irresistible offer. Click pictures below to see them in full screen view:
