Kulture House in Jumeirah Street
Mezzeh Platter with Hybrid butter naan – AED 50 – chami and dates, babaganoush, channa chutney, beetroot feta, hummus

Kulture house is more than just a cafe. Like the name says, Kulture House is like a stage showcasing different cultures under one roof. It’s a cafe made up of different pieces of culture from all around the world. They have a retail shop where you can find unique items from different parts of the world which would includes bags, ornaments, crockery, eyewear and other accessories. Each of these items are from different brands from different countries. Some of them are certainly unique, which you might not find anywhere else in Dubai. One section of the house would be dedicated to plants. So you have the opportunity to buy plants of different kinds and sizes. They also have a pop-up store which showcases a particular artist and their collection. There is also a gallery of pictures where they try to tell a story and how arts of different culture have influenced the interiors of Kulture House. There is a high influence of African, Persian, Indian and Moroccan artwork at Kulture House.

Kulture house is an old villa in Jumeirah converted into a lifestyle concept store and cafe. We walk amazed below the colorful ceramic tiled arches(outsourced from Morocco) into the house. Water fountain on the side is inspired from one of the travels of the owner. Each part of the house is influenced by one culture or the other. Seating arrangements have been very comfy and feels like home. You can call it a modern version of Arabic Majlis. One of the table top lighting is actually a set of stools stuck on top of the ceiling. There is a culture thought in every corner at Kulture House. You need to visit to experience what you see.

Menu at Kulture House Dubai
PB and A – AED 33 – A pina-colada marbled with acai and peanut butter
From Left: PB and A(AED 33) and Mocha Iced coffee(AED 25)

When it comes to their cafe, the first thing we were impressed was their menu. It’s all electronic in an iPad with pictures and pricing. You get to see what your order looks like before you place the order. This is really helpful especially when the menu is different and unique. We started with the no. 1 drink which was the Peanut butter and Acai. It was an excellent cold start. A good balance of Acai, Milk and peanut butter. The Mocha Ice coffee was actually deceiving, it didn’t look exactly same as we expected from the picture. But I assure they make good tasting coffee. A must try coffee would be their Military Latte.

Buratta “Asian Savor” – AED 50 – Tomato Salsa, spiced asian, dressing, toasted sesame, peanut crumble, sakura, nuts
Mezzeh Platter with Hybrid butter naan – AED 50 – chami and dates, babaganoush, channa chutney, beetroot feta, hummus
Turkish Eggs – AED 50 – Labneh, sumac, burn butter chilli oil, poached eggs, sourdough
Crispy chicken Biriyani roll – AED 40 – spiced biriyani rice, pull chicken, raita

It all begins with the Mezzeh platter. The so called hybrid butter naan was soft and went very well with the dippers. Although I felt these dippers were a little smaller than I expected. Surely the beetroot feta was our favorite from the lot. The Turkish eggs were pure in its taste, not spicy and very pleasant to have it for breakfast. It’s one of those dishes which makes eggs look so good. The sour dough breads come as standard for the Turkish eggs. The Crispy chicken biriyani roll was an interesting one, it’s the first time we find a biriyani inside a fried roll and since it is rice inside the roll, the roll is quite a filling. The raita was a nice combo with these rolls. The real winner of our brunch was the fascinating Asian flavoured spicy burrata. The burrata had so much flavor to it,  while it was soaked in all those magical ingredients. I would say the Asian flavoured Burrata is a must order at Kulture House and should not be missed.

Matcha Milk Cake – AED 50 – Matcha creme anglaise, boba pearls
Matcha Milk Cake – AED 50 – Matcha creme anglaise, boba pearls
Lemon Meringgue Tart – AED 50 – Lemon curd, toasted meringue, short bread crust

They had little choice when it came to desserts. The Matcha Milk cake was a delicious one. The cake was nicely dipped into the Matcha milk cake along with boba pearls on top. We loved the presentation and the matcha milk as such, but overall we felt the cake in it was not the finest we’ve had for a milk cake, it could get better. The lemon meringue on top of the tart as such was nice but the base which was the tart could get better. Overall, if there is any improvement then it was the dessert department otherwise they are flying high with their quality menu. We finally end our brunch with a fine coffee called the Military Latte which was one of a kind. The coffee was so delicious, a must coffee to try and one of the coffee’s in Dubai.

Military Latte – AED 29 – Matcha, espresso, cocoa
