You are going to love the interiors at Mango Tree Thai Bistro where every side of the restaurant tries to reflect Thailand and its streets. From ceiling, lighting, walls, wallpapers, there is a story to tell. You have seating both inside and outside in their balcony. We preferred to sit in their balcony which had a cool breeze from the winds. There was also a kids play corner in their balcony which I thought was more suitable for the toddlers than kids. I think they need to have more activities in that space to keep the kids busy throughout the brunch.
They serve fresh juices. You can opt from Mango, watermelon, Orange, Pineapple & Lemon mint. We then walked towards their salad section which was the best part of our brunch as they had plenty of different kinds of salads which were healthy and packed with flavours. You could either create your own salads or pick from their signature collection of salads. The kind of flavours that would run in your mouth is amazing. This was a brunch were you appreciate salads. You will also find salads that contain minced chicken, dried shrimps, roasted rice, grilled beef, water melon, all available in different Thai spices and dressing.
They have two LIVE cooking stations. One is dedicated to making Papaya salad and the other is dedicated to making Pad Thai(a Thai dish based on rice noodles). You pick and choose what you want in it including the level of spice and they make it fresh right in front of you. Although just two stations, there wasn’t any waiting or queue that you had to worry about. The Som Tam station was an interesting one as you don’t get to experience these kind of salads otherwise. You really understand and cherish the pleasure in eating and enjoying the vibrant taste coming out of these Thai street dishes and salads.
Most people ofcourse often visited the hot appetizers. The veg spring rolls were thick and crispy. The deep fried shrimp was another attraction from the hot appetizers along with those ever tempting satays. I must admit that the satays here were one of the best we’ve experienced. The chicken skewers tasted so good and they were soft and easy to it. Let’s not forget their specialty condiments which was even more attractive such as the Thai peanut dipping sauce and their cucumber/onion relish which were commendable.
From the soups I highly recommend you to try the spicy prawn soup which was so good and perfect for your throat. The soup definitely awakens your taste buds in the first sip. A must try! From the mains the ones to try would be their Wok fried chicken with cashew nuts and their green curry chicken. The traditional steamed rice was also available on the side for any of the curries.
There were plenty of Thai specialty desserts, one of the most famous item would be their LIVE roti station where they make fresh Roti in front of you and then stuff it with your choice of topping. The Rotis do take time so it’s better you place the order few minutes prior. It’s one of those items where you appreciate nutella. There is also a Thai ice cream station where you choose an ice cream and fill it up with thai signature toppings such as chestnuts, peanuts, corn etc. Mango Sticky rice is one of their hot sellers, A sweet mango on a sticky rice topped with coconut cream sauce. The coconut cream sauce makes the sticky rice a pleasingly rich experience with the mango sticky rice. The sweetness of the mango and the taste of the coconut cream sauce makes a big difference. I noticed the redruby water chestnut dessert which was available on the buffet was dry as opposed to the ones they make individually and this made a big difference in the experience. They should ensure that water chestnut redruby dessert has enough liquid in it as that was the real joy.
