Hello Everyone! How is it going, hope everyone is safe and healthy. After many months of working from home, I finally manage to get out in style with the latest Audi S8. Operating and driving the S8 has been sheer pleasure. A car that is designed not just for a satisfying drive but is also on top of the game when it comes to technology and comfort. Audi S8 is a delight not just for the driver, passengers are equally thrilled in this car with it’s sophisticated comfort and technology that you could enjoy even from the rear seats. Audi S8 comes with fully equipped sensor set with five radar sensors, six cameras, twelve ultrasound sensors and a laser scanner. The unique innovative suspension system would be the highlight for me this time which basically rises the height of the vehicle everytime you want get in or out of the car. Audi S8 starts at a pricing of AED 570,885 and along with additional options the vehicle featured in this post is at a price of AED 627,375.

Exterior
The Exterior has a striking presence. The front end is wide as expected along with a flat roof dome. The rear end is slightly lifted upward with continuous rear light strip giving it a progressive character. The S8 featured is with the optional black styling package where surrounding trim strip and the window slot trims have a high-gloss black finish. The exhaust system with S-typical twin oval tailpipes is very attractive and makes a powerful statement. You can always customize different paint finish as part of the Audi exclusive program. There is an option of 20 or 21inch alloy wheels. For headlights there is an option of HD Matrix LED or OLED rear lights. The wide tail lights also give the vehicle a striking presence on the road.

Including the brake calipers, the ceramic brake system is 9.6 kilograms lighter than the conventional brake system with brake discs made from cast iron
- The cylinder on demand system, which deactivates individual cylinders in low-load operating situations, provides for additional efficiency.
Active Suspension
The new S8 comes standard with the predictive active suspension. The high-tech system, which works in combination with the air suspension, can lift or push down each wheel separately via electromechanical actuators. It is therefore possible to actively control the trim of the body in any driving situation and thus greatly reduce pitch or roll during acceleration or braking. The front camera, which detects larger road surface irregularities, enables this to be done predictively. The position of the S8’s body can be altered even when it is stationary. It is quickly raised by as much as 50 mm when the door handle is actuated, making getting into the car even easier and more comfortable. This feature is most noted when you enter and exit the vehicle and also when you face any road bumps where the impact is much less, thanks to the active suspension.
Interior
As expected you can only expect a spacious interior from an S8. It’s more of a lounge than a typical car interior. Through out the interior you find an exclusive carbon vector inlay interior followed by dark brushed Aluminium matte finish that adds a touch of sportiness and elegance. The gear selector knob feels great to hold which also has the carbon fiber lining on it’s surface. The pedals and footrest are made from stainless steel. The Matrix LED lamp found on top is touch based and gives it a nice look and feel as if you are inside an aeroplane cockpit. There is also a built-in fragrance where you refill using their cartridge. Most of the controls within the car is touch based. The ‘extendable’ sun visor is very useful to the driver to block unwanted sunlight.
MMI Touch
The MMI touch response comes as standard with 10.1- and 8.6-inch high-resolution HD touchscreens for displaying and controlling infotainment and convenience functions. No buttons, fewer keys, and a richer experience, the MMI touch is fully digital. There is also a haptic feedback when you press the virtual buttons on the screen. The driver controls nearly all functions via two large displays. All driving-relevant displays appear in the Audi virtual cockpit, which can be switched between two views. While the tachometer and speedometer are displayed as large dial-type gages in driving mode, the map is the center of attention in infotainment mode. The optional head-up display can display important information on the windshield.
The driver will also find a wireless mobile charger under the arm rest along with 2 USB ports, 1 SD card slot as well as a SIM card slot. Although it’s a big car, the pockets in the car is small. The space inside the armrest is limited and not enough space to fit in bigger accessories that you might want to fit in. The steering wheel has all the easy access buttons that a driver needs. The contour seats feels extremely comfortable wrapped in a top Valcona leather and holds your back well during the ride. The seats are ventilated and also has seven different massage functions focusing on different areas of the body as well as 3 intensity levels. The seat also has electrically height-adjustable head restraints. Although by design they have limited button for the center console, they have incorporated dedicated buttons such as for the radio, start/stop, vehicle safety and parking.
Ambient Lighting
You are invited into the car with an ambience of it’s own, thanks to the ambience lighting package which delivers multiple layers and colors of lighting inside the car. Ambience lighting has 6 preset color profiles. The lighting can also be customized between 2 layers. It plays an important role in setting up a beautiful ambience inside the vehicle. I would probably say it sets the theme in the car. Unfortunately the ambient lighting doesn’t extend to the wide Panoramic glass sunroof.
Rear Passenger Comfort
Passengers on the rear seats are also provided with outstanding comfort. This is thanks to features such as ventilation and massage, the heat comfort package, the Matrix LED reading lamp, four-zone deluxe automatic air conditioning with ionizer and fragrance, Rear Seat Entertainment and the Rear Seat Remote control unit. One of the exciting feature for the rear seat passengers would be the rear seat removable 10.1-inch touchscreen android unit found in the rear seat armrest. The rear seat passengers will have controls to all the infotainment controls in the car, there is a big OLED remote as size of a tablet slate that can be used to conveniently control the entertainment features of the car which includes controlling the blinds, windscreen, ambience lighting, ventilation, music, fragrance etc. The vehicle’s sound system features active noise cancellation to eliminate intrusive cabin noise.
The space is the key to the Audi A8 series and they make it as comfortable as possible by even using Larger doors, legroom which makes it much convenient to get in and out of the vehicle. The Vents controls are also touch based and the vents shutter would automatically close if not in use.
