Cairo 30 is an Egyptian restaurant located at the Pointe, The Palm and this is a restaurant you want to visit not just for the food but for the views as well. Enjoy Egyptian style Arabic food with beautiful views of natural sea, along with default entertainment at The Pointe such as the dancing fountain that makes evening hours more wonderful dining in Cairo 30 at The Palm. Located on the top floor, the balcony of Cairo 30 is very much in demand. They have unobstructed views of the sea. Although we’ve eaten plenty of Arabic food before, everything from the starters to the finish tasted and looked different. So they definitely give you a unique experience when it comes to eating Arabic food.
Once you are the Pointe, it’s quite easy to find Cairo 30 but to reach the Pointe is quite a challenge at the Palm as google maps is confused while navigating you to The Pointe. The restaurant is more quite in the afternoon but they are busy and crowded in the evenings and is often the best part about the restaurant. Sometimes, they do have live music and entertainment, apart from this you also have a front facing view of the dancing fountain at The pointe which is quite good. The seats are very comfortable and is a nice spot for a warm ambience and with this climate in hand, it is a good time to visit the restaurant.
The drinks are colorful and they have interesting shakes and fruit juices. Arabic restaurants are quite well known for their layered fruit juices and you get the same here. But The Cairo 30 milkshake was outstanding and it was as good as a dessert. A heavy blend of ice cream, milk, yoghurt and cream. The mixed berry sauce added a nice jazz to the shake which makes it overall a drink worth mentioning.
The mixed appetizers be it hot or cold were pretty good and especially the hot platter which was different from the usual trend. We saw many new ones on the plate. The meats were lovely and it was interesting to experience a true dolma which had a unique texture and taste. The sausages came cut in small pieces and was fast moving on our table. I would still say the man of the match is the Dolma from this plate. The salads in the cold appetizers were the classics but was well made and tasted nice. So were the quality dippers which went well their hot fluffy bread.
We then received a grand Grill on our table which came with plenty of different kinds of meats including liver. It was like a LIVE bbq station on our table with smoke flying on top. Except for the lamb everything else was as expected. The lamb was a bit too chewy for some reason and I thought that should have been cooked better. The dark shades of the meats makes it enticing and it has that shine on the grill that you just want to grab them right away. The grilled chicken is commendable. It was just superb, I honestly enjoyed this chicken the best, the way it was soft and well cooked. The molokheya does give it a different taste altogether.
We had this beautiful dessert to end our lunch which is called the four season consisting of cream, kunafa, chocolate, berry sauce, lotus cream. It’s the best cream dessert that we enjoyed. Highly recommend to try and it won’t disappoint for sure. Click pictures below to see them in full screen view:
