Look to no other place if you fancy a lip smacking Asian brunch with a modern vibe. An outstanding brunch consisting of sushi platters, raw bar, salads, hot appetizers, sharing mains, sides and a dessert platter. Everything comes to the table and I can’t remember any of them being less than mesmerizing. Food was of top quality and that’s one thing that comes into my mind when I think about our brunch at Blue SEAFOOD ASIA. There has been no compromise on taste, I can assure you that the Saturday Brunch has some of the finest dishes from their menu. We loved every bit of the experience, from the time we stepped into the restaurant, which is a beautiful world by itself, Blue SEAFOOD ASIA restaurant located at Waldorf Astoria DIFC. Valet parking is covered at the hotel, so nothing to worry.
As soon as you step inside the restaurant, you are transported to a different world of it’s own. You have fresh fishes greeting you from one end(basically diners have the option to order fresh fish from their ala carte menu) and on the other side you have these wide open kitchen where you see different head chefs busy preparing their specialties such as dim sums and sushis for the brunch. It’s unlimited food coming to your table, so you can continue to order until you give up. You also have LIVE music and singing as part of their saturday brunch entertainment which sets the right tone for a weekend.
It starts with their colorful mocktails coming to the table. For mocktails that had Mojitos(Strawberry, Passionfruit, Virgin etc) and ice tea mainly. Nevertheless, we enjoyed these drinks. They had 2 different kinds of salad. The spicy som tam papaya salad was the clear winner from the two and most of us was after the prawns found inside the rock shrimp salad. The sushi platter was a hot favourite on the table. There were 3 different kind of rolls and each of them with their own spice and flavour. They also came with dippers on the side which made them taste amazing. Ofcourse chopsticks are the tools with these dishes and kids were given a trainer model which holds the chopstick together with ease. So the experience was absolutely complete, the way you eat it and the way the sushi tasted. The tuna dish was of light texture and you hardly realize anything going in, it was more about the flavour it brings into your palate with its pleasing dressing.
The hot appetizers were equally impressive. They had 2 different dim sums, one was vegetable and the other beef truffle. Obviously the beef was tantalizing to us and we continued to order more of the beef truffle dim sum. I think the truffle added a unique flavour to the dim sum. I can say we had one of the best chicken satays here, tender and would easily come off the wooden stick. The spring rolls were hot and crispy and the prawn tempura was interesting too especially when you dip them in the peanut sauce which takes the taste on a different level. Love the sauces here and I think that’s the real magic to the overwhelming flavours.
Our mains were just adorable. Thai green fish curry stole the show for it’s thick scrumptious taste. One of the best thai green curry we’ve had. It was all about the king sized shrimp found inside the szechuan sauce for the other main. The veg specialty main Crispy Eggplant with Feta was really good. It scored an A+ for it’s presentation and loved everything about the colorful dish. Vegetables never tasted so good!
They also impress you with their collection of desserts which was a unique creation of their own. Name sounds familiar but they all looked and tasted different. I mean look at the cheese cake, they never looked like that before, the chocolate tart had a thick caramel layering on top which gave it a different flavour all together. There was one more dessert called the Dacqoise a la blue which was my favourite and something we’ve never tried before. For some reason I just can’t find the picture of this dessert, I guess i just couldn’t resist the time I saw it. Click here to visit their official website.
