Always enjoy my experience at The Walk, Jumeirah Beach Residence and when you can eat some nice food facing the beach it gets even better. I can never forget my wonderful ‘cheesy’experience at Fratelli La Bufala. I have never enjoyed eating cheese as much as I did here. They have some fantastic offering with mozzarella and their pizzas have also been a standout in particular. Surely the heart and soul of this restaurant comes from Italy and they want to offer you the real piece of Italy hence all that you eat is mainly imported from Italy. The restaurant is just a year old at The Walk, Jumeirah Beach Residence.

You can sit in or out the restaurant facing the beach. But you know the afternoon temperature was hot for lunch so we were quite happy to be seated inside the restaurant. They have a good collection of pretty looking mocktails and I was in complete love with their FLB special. I highly recommend to try this one which came with a fancy spoon hanging on the glass. As you can see in the picture, the drink was already 50% done by the time I realized to click a picture for you. The fizzy Mojito was a pure refresher and you enjoy this more when you sip it with your mains.

Capricciosa Pizza - dhs 75 - tomato sauce, mozzarella, artichoke hearts, mushrooms and smoked turkey
Capricciosa Pizza – dhs 75 – tomato sauce, mozzarella, artichoke hearts, mushrooms and smoked turkey

We actually started with a pizza even though  we ordered starters. This was thanks to the manager who arranged us a special welcome pizza. She was kind enough to arrange us a customized all rounder pizza that had a little bit of everything (which is not available in the menu otherwise). Each slice was different from the other with prawns, smoked turkey, salmon, mushroom, beef  etc I had the first bite and was like wow!. Somehow felt I have been eating the wrong pizza all these years.  The base of the pizza was thin as a blade and light as a feather that the mozarella cheese on top would bend the slice when you try to lift the slice with your hand. The mozzarella on the pizza was rich, delicious and you just wanted to have more of it. The wood fire oven could be found in the center of their restaurant and if you refer to the above images you can see their pizza in different stages: before and after. Make sure you try the pizza with Mozarella on it 😉

Then came our real starters. Of course the 125gm Mozarella cheese ball was the center attraction. They also make their own chili oil. Also the mozarella cheese is accompanied by fresh arugula and cherry tomatoes. Felt I was eating something pure, rich and healthy. The breaded fried mozzarella slices were little more fun because they stand out for their crispiness and added flavour. Seafood soup was typical in taste and there is lot of seafood inside the soup. I was happy to see a nice chunk of fish hidden under the prawns. Dipping the fresh toasted breads into the warm soup was also appetizing.

They had different types of meats to offer like buffalo , black angus, wagyu beef and I opted for the black angus. The meat was tender but the meat had little bit of extra fat around it which is a turn off but like said it was a good piece of meat otherwise. The pasta we had was a common one which we typically see in other Italian restaurants. Actually I should have tried their other pasta such as the Cannelone e Parmigiana di Melanzane which could have been an interesting one. Hopefully next time.

From the desserts the king sized genuine baked cheese cake stole the show. You definitely need an extra hand to help finish it. Tiramisu was ok as I’ve had better ones from their neighboring restaurants like REAL MADRID Cafe itself. The one you get here is a common tiramisu you find at most places but not extraordinary. The big cream puff is a light puff filled with heavy cream, in fact this order came in by chance. I actually wanted to try their homemade doughnut filled with ricotta cheese cream but I mentioned the wrong Italian name for the dessert where I ended with the Big cream puff. I’ve heard good reviews on their homemade doughnut so that’s something you could try.

Oh yes I do admire their Italian coffee which is from Kimbo. It gave us a fantastic ending to our lunch session.
